The holidays can be an emotionally tender season when someone we love is seriously ill or has died.

Grief and joy often sit side by side, and moments meant for celebration can carry a quiet ache.

At Montgomery & Prince George’s Hospice, we want our community to know that you do not have to navigate this season alone. Connect Sooner, Live Better reflects our belief that reaching out to trusted friends, family, coworkers, and/or healthcare resources can bring comfort, understanding, and gentle support when needed most.

We offer workshops throughout the year for those experiencing grief and loss. These tailored workshops provide safe and supportive spaces where you can learn, share, and feel in community with others navigating the same journey. We are here when you need us.

On this , we invite you to make a contribution to help us reach our $1M goal through the dollar-for-dollar Matching Pledge Challenge for our Casey House Nurses and Nursing Aide Endowment. This generous pledge and your generosity will help make possible our ability to hire and retain the best nurses and aides, who are at the heart of the expert and compassionate care provided at Casey House, our inpatient facility.

For more than four decades, our mission, vision, and values have been to gentle the journey and to provide comfort, dignity, and peace during serious illness and loss. Your support helps us to uphold these pillars and we thank you in advance.

The 1:1 Pledge Challenge ensures that every dollar you give becomes two, directly supporting the care that thousands of families rely on each year.

Thank you for making a difference for others during a very tender and sacred time in their lives.

This Thanksgiving, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families who place their trust in us, allowing us to walk beside them during some of life’s most meaningful moments.

We are equally thankful for our dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners whose kindness, skill, and unwavering commitment make our mission possible. Your compassion brings comfort, peace, and hope to those we serve.

It was our honor to once again host the annual Tree of Lights event at Brookside Gardens, Montgomery Parks for community members who have lost someone dear to them.

Thank you to Montgomery County Council Member, Will Jawando, for sharing his personal hospice story, and to all those who joined us in remembrance.

We are also grateful to Board Chair, Justin Reaves, for offering the welcoming remarks, and to Phil Carpenter and Bunny O'Dell of our Counseling & Bereavement Departments, for their words of reflection and the Litany of Remembrance.

Lending their supportive presence were Board Members Shobhana Sharma, Daniel Rutherford Wilson, and Vice President of Business Development, Perry Limes.

A heartfelt thank-you to Senior Leader, Marlene Bradford and her team for coordinating another meaningful and successful event.

And to our incredible volunteers — thank you for your time, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Your support helps make moments like this possible, and we are deeply grateful.

On this and every day, we honor and thank the men and women (and their families!) who have served our nation, at home and abroad.

It is our privilege to care for Veteran patients, and to honor them through our Pinning Ceremonies, which are performed by fellow Veterans.

An extra special salute to our Veteran staff and volunteers, who continue to serve others through their hospice & palliative work.
