🚶‍♂️🧠 Here’s the GaitBetter in action! 🧠🚶‍♀️

In this clip, we’re using the “Recall Racer” mode where the user walks on the treadmill while categorizing pictures on screen by pressing a button, all while navigating virtual obstacles.

This engaging setup helps target:

✅ Executive functioning skills like working memory, attention, cognitive flexibility, and processing speed
✅ Gait training and dynamic balance
✅ Fall prevention by practicing dual-tasking, just like real-world walking challenges

Combining physical movement with cognitive tasks keeps therapy fun, functional, and evidence-based!

🌈 What is the Zones of Regulation? 🌈

The Zones of Regulation is a social-emotional learning framework we use in occupational therapy to help kids recognize, understand, and manage their feelings and energy levels. By learning to identify which “zone” they’re in—blue, green, yellow, or red—kids build better self-awareness and gain practical tools to help them stay regulated throughout the day.

This approach is also at the heart of our Zoning In summer program! Through fun, play-based group activities, kids learn social-emotional regulation skills and practice being flexible, being a good sport, and understanding expected vs. unexpected behaviors. We also include gross motor games to help kids learn how to work together as a team. Plus, we explore sensory strategies and calming tools they can use at school, at home, and in the community to feel more confident and in control.

💡 It’s all about making self-regulation and social learning engaging, relatable, and fun!

Want to learn more about how Zoning In could support your child? Contact us today— we still have a few spots left in Week 1 and Week 3!

🌟 Swing into Sensory Fun! 🌟

Check it out in our therapy room — we have flat platform swings, bolster swings, and more, perfect for providing the vestibular stimulation kids need to grow, learn, and thrive.

In occupational therapy, swinging isn’t just play — it’s meaningful sensory work that helps children:
✅ Build core strength and postural control
✅ Improve balance, coordination, and motor planning
✅ Process and integrate sensory input for better self-regulation and attention
✅ Develop body awareness and confidence

From gentle rocking to playful spins, swings create rich sensory experiences that support emotional regulation and skill development — all while having fun!

✨ Beam Buster Fun at Fitness for Health! ✨

At Fitness for Health, we love turning exercise into an adventure! One of our favorite games on our interactive laser maze is Beam Buster — where kids (and adults!) race to move, stretch, and jump to “bust” every laser beam and knock out all the lights.

This dynamic game isn’t just fun — it helps build coordination, balance, motor planning, and quick thinking, all while keeping everyone engaged and active. Come experience how we blend therapy, fitness, and play in a uniquely motivating way!

At Fitness for Health, obstacle courses are more than just fun—they’re purposeful play! 🧠💪🎯

Our therapists love designing creative obstacle courses that help kids build essential skills like balance, coordination, core strength, and motor planning—all while having a blast. Each movement is designed to support physical development and sensory integration in a motivating and supportive environment.

We often turn these challenges into team games, themed adventures, or problem-solving missions to keep kids engaged and growing—physically, emotionally, and socially.

✨ Come see how play and progress go hand-in-hand at Fitness for Health!
