Open Heart Healing

Open Heart Healing www.karentasto.com To remember our innate wholeness we need to connect to all aspects of ourselves including our bodies, hearts and souls.

I help women reclaim and connect to their whole selves, helping them to build and foster relationships to the parts of themselves that have been severed, dismissed, suppressed, long lost or forgotten, particularly those related to their feminine natures. And there are the parts of us that our souls are aching to reunite with such as our wildness, our creativity, our sensuality and sexuality, our wisdom, to name a few. By helping women unlock the keys to their feminine powers, they find themselves coming home to their wholeness, living with more joy, purpose and connection. I provide my community of women the safe, supportive space of sacred circles to explore these forgotten aspects of themselves. provide spiritual enrichment and personal development. The Circles include ritual, intention, self-inquiry, guided meditation & imagery, movement, breath, & creative expression - all for empowering women to become who they were meant to be. I also provide 1:1 coaching for deep self-exploration, allowing my clients to live the life they’re meant to live.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what it really means to hold space —
not just to facilitate a circle, coaching call, or gathering -
but to create a container where something sacred can unfold.

Over the years, I’ve learned that what makes a space truly transformative isn’t the outline, or the perfect words...
It’s presence - that grounded, heart-led energy that allows others to feel safe enough to soften, to open, to be seen.

And one of the most powerful ways to cultivate that presence is through ritual -- simple, intentional acts that help us anchor the unseen into form, and turn what we know into what we can feel.

That’s why I created The Power of Leading Ritual,
a free 90-minute workshop for women who hold (or feel called to hold) sacred space for others.

Together, we’ll explore how to bring more depth, creativity, and soul into the spaces you lead — and awaken your inner Circle Weaver.

Sometimes the idea of gathering with other women can stir both longing and fear.

What if I don’t belong?
What if others are further along?
What if I’m too quiet... or too much?

These tender edges are so human - and they’re part of the healing itself.

Opening to Sisterhood isn’t about performing or pretending.
It’s about showing up exactly as you are and being met there.

Every woman who feels the pull to be there belongs. 💗

As I’ve been preparing for Opening to Sisterhood, I keep feeling how this healing ripples out far beyond one circle.

When a woman begins to trust again… when she feels safe to speak her truth and connect from her whole self… she becomes a powerful weaver of community.

I believe this is what the world is asking of us now. 🌎

In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing something for women who feel called to hold circles of their own - to create the spaces they once longed for.

But for now, our first step is here: Opening to Sisterhood. 🌹

I'll post the link in the comments for you.
Much love

You’re warmly invited to a sacred online circle:

Opening to Sisterhood
Wednesday, October 22 | 7–8:30pm ET | on Zoom

A guided evening to explore what sisterhood truly means — to tend the tender places, release old stories, and open to new ways of being together as women.

Through journaling, somatic work, visioning, and heartfelt sharing, we’ll create a space for honesty, healing, and connection.

This is for you if you’re craving authentic sisterhood, or if trust and belonging feel like edges you’re ready to lean into.

Let’s reimagine what’s possible — together. 💗

Imagine what could happen if we began to release the old stories that keep us separate.

If we could see other women not as competition, but as mirrors and allies.

If we could let our hearts soften again - and remember what it feels like to belong.

Healing the sister wound isn’t about fixing what’s broken; it’s about remembering what’s true.

I’ve created a sacred space to explore this together… ✨

10/12/2025

The sister wound can feel like…
✧ Not being chosen or included
✧ Feeling “too much” or “not enough” among other women
✧ Dimming your light to stay safe
✧ Always being the strong one — but rarely feeling truly supported

These patterns run deep. And yet beneath them is such a pure, aching desire:
to belong, to trust, to feel at home in the presence of other women.

You are not alone in this longing. 🌺

What part of this resonates most for you right now?

10/11/2025

Have you ever noticed how complicated our relationships with other women can feel?

There’s a tenderness there - a longing to be seen, supported, and celebrated - but often it’s mixed with hesitation, comparison, or mistrust.

This is what many call the sister wound - the inherited patterns of competition, betrayal, and disconnection that have kept women apart for generations.

It shows up in subtle ways: holding back your truth in a group of women, struggling to fully trust, or feeling safer alone.

Do you recognize this in yourself? 💔
I'd love to hear.

(In the next few days, I’ll be sharing more about how we begin to heal this together.)

This weekend marks the Celtic festival of Lughnasadh (or Lammas), a lesser-known celebration in our modern culture. In the Wheel of the Year, it falls midway between Summer Solstice and Autumn Equinox. In ancient times, people would gather in community to celebrate the bounty of the season.

Honestly, of all the seasonal festivals, this is the one I've most often glossed over. Living in an over-culture that constantly urges us toward what's next, it’s taken me time to appreciate the medicine of Lammas. But now I do—and I find myself truly savoring this time of year. I'm even bringing Lammas celebration into my women's circles next week.

As I’ve come to understand and honor this festival, I love how it invites me to pause and reflect on what’s ripening in my life... to acknowledge and celebrate the fruits of my labor. Even though the sun still shines bright and the days are full, there's a quiet leaning toward the dark—just as it is in nature, so it is in us.

I invite you, this weekend or sometime next week, to gift yourself a sacred pause. Light a candle. Take a few deep breaths. Let yourself be with these reflections:

✨ What has been ripening for me this season or this year?
✨ What am I proud of in my life?
✨ How am I growing—in small ways or big ones?

And then—this is really important—feel the celebration in your body. Really receive it. All that you’ve accomplished. All that you are.

Last weekend, I had the joy of attending a workshop with one of my favorite authors, Rebecca Campbell, at Omega Institute. In the spirit of Lammas, I thought you might enjoy her short Gratitude Meditation. Just five minutes... but full of beauty and presence.

Enjoy and many blessings on this Lammas! xo

🌿 When it all gets to be a bit much... 🌿

The full calendars.
The mental juggling.
The swirl of activity that seems to rise with the summer sun.
And the heaviness of the world that’s hard to ignore.

If you're feeling it too — the scattered energy, the craving for something slower, more soulful — I’m holding a sacred space just for you.

✨ Join me under the trees, under the dusk sky, for a Summer Solstice Circle in the DC/MD area.

We’ll begin with a light vegetarian supper, then move gently into intuitive movement, reflection, ritual, and heartfelt connection.

This gathering is about coming home to yourself in sisterhood.
It’s about remembering what matters.

And walking away with a deeper sense of clarity, connection, and being.

In-person, outdoors (with an indoor plan if needed)
Saturday, June 14th 5:30-9pm
No experience needed — come exactly as you are.

Space is limited, and I’d truly love to have you with us. Message me or comment below if you want details.

Let’s root into what’s real, together.
With love

🌿 Stubborn Resistance
by Chelan Harkin

Sometimes I wake up and don’t want to grow.
I want to hide from the endless call
to open and open more.

I want to barricade the door
with furniture and silence—
say, “No one’s home”
to the Divine knocking at my edges.

I want to stay in a world
where I don’t dissolve,
where I get to keep my opinions,
my resentments,
my favorite defense mechanisms.

Where I don’t have to feel everything
or cry at inopportune times,
or risk looking foolish for loving so much.

But life is a relentless midwife.
She doesn’t care how tightly I cling
to the edge of what was.

She’s already pressing my back
into the wall of change,
saying,

“Breathe, beloved.
It’s time.”

Reflection for you: What part of you is resisting growth?
Do you sometimes feel like it would be so much easier to stay unconscious...to not do the inner work?

Girl, I sure have my moments but my wise Self knows better- She knows the work is soo worth it - for me, for my community and inner circles, for the planet.

And I can't do the work in isolation! This I know in my bones!
Much love, sisters.
