Please be safe and only be out if you absolutely have to be and bundle up, prepare for emergencies. We will be closed tomorrow due to temps and roads, and schools will be closed in both counties as well.

Short term model guidance is suggesting tonight into Wednesday morning could be one of the coldest wind chills we've seen in quite some time. -20 to -35F wind chills look likely across central and southern Indiana, while northern Indiana sees -10 to -20F below.

4:15pm ET: Broken record right? Apparently not. Our Facebook feed over the last 24 hours has been littered with state and local police/EMA begging people to stay off the roads, or at very least slow down. An unfortunate theme today has been emergency service vehicles being STRUCK while on duty on our highways.

This HAS to end. For your safety and for your fellow Hoosiers around you.. slow down, stay off the roads if you can.

Several counties have raised their travel alert levels this afternoon. Nearly all of southern Indiana is now in a travel warning, and most all other counties are now within a travel watch. Northwest Indiana is the only area with a few counties still within the advisory, largely due to less snow accumulations overall. We will continue to push updates through this evening and into Monday.

Advisory:🟨
The lowest level of local travel advisory, means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid these areas.

Watch:🟧
Means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.

Warning:🟥
The highest level of local travel advisory means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. During a "warning" local travel advisory, individuals are directed to:
Refrain from all travel;
Comply with necessary emergency measures;
Cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans; and
Obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers.
