I mean terrified! Almost obsessed with the thought of failure. Late 30’s. She had the grades. The ICU experience. The leadership. Well spoken. Moderately shy. Nurse less than 5 years. Active on the unit nonetheless. Spoke several languages. One certification.
The strange thing…
She kept saying, “What if I don’t get in?” She genuinely believed she wasn’t enough. She believed she wouldn’t get calls. She believed she wasn’t “ CRNA “ material.

I asked her: What if you do? We built a timeline. A realistic plan. A realistic application strategy in terms of schools to apply to. She applied to several. She interviewed at one and She got accepted on the FIRST and ONLY interview.

Fear of failure keeps many Future CRNAs stuck longer than rejection ever will. Fear can be crippling. Many strong, critically thinking nurses avoid applying simply because of fear.(Me)

Honestly, she had it all- she just needed someone to tell her and show her on paper.
Sometime you are inside your own story and sabotaging your opportunities.

Let’s say it out loud.

You’re not scared of CRNA school. You’re scared of losing stability. The paycheck. The benefits. The safety. Especially if you have family depending on you. That fear is valid.

I waited until my daughter attended college. Some start when their child is very young. There is no one right way.

Planning is the only way for it to happen as seamless as possible.
There will be hiccups in every situation.

But staying stuck out of fear is still a decision.

Planning reduces fear.

Strategy reduces risk.

Waiting doesn’t.

Comment “PLAN” if quitting your job is your biggest hesitation.

Both reached out for help and booked my Free Success Session consultation.

Both had the similar issues:

• Resume not showing clinical thinking
• Not getting Interview invites (both of them)
• No real strategy
• Listening to random advice and overwhelmed
