Imagine standing in the grocery store, carefully choosing what your family needs, only to learn your benefits didn’t come through. That is the reality many families are facing as the government shutdown halts SNAP benefits, cutting $600 million in food aid this month alone.

Here in Rockwall County, families, children, and seniors who rely on SNAP will face tough choices, using rent or utility funds to buy food, or going without.
