In addition to his counseling training, Brad brings more than three decades of experience in pastoral ministry, where he spent years supporting individuals, couples, and families through both crises and life transitions. This background informs his compassionate, respectful approach to counseling.

Domestic violence doesn’t always leave visible bruises.

Sometimes it shows up as control.
Sometimes as fear.
Sometimes as slowly losing your voice in a relationship.

This month we’re helping bring awareness and support survivors in our community.

👣 Join us at the Steps for Cassie Walkathon on March 21st in Rockwall as we walk to break the silence around domestic violence.

Whether you’ve experienced it personally or want to support someone who has, your presence matters.

And if you or someone you love is healing from an abusive relationship, therapy can help rebuild safety, trust, and self-worth.

You don’t have to go through it alone.

Over-functioning often starts as protection.

Maybe you learned early that stability depended on you.

Maybe being “the responsible one” kept things safe.

But adulthood doesn’t require you to carry every emotional weight in the room.

Healthy love allows space for two capable people, not one exhausted one.

If this resonates, you’re not broken.
You adapted.
And you can learn something new.

Hyper-independence often gets praised.

But for many people, it started as protection, not preference.

When you had to grow up quickly or learned that relying on others wasn’t safe, doing everything alone made sense.

The goal isn’t dependence.
It’s interdependence… where strength and support coexist.

If this resonates, you’re not broken.
Your nervous system adapted.

At Human Kind Wellness, we help clients untangle these patterns with compassion and care.

Loving someone who isn’t emotionally available can feel like chasing closeness that never fully lands.

It’s not a reflection of your worth.

And it’s not something you can fix by trying harder.

Often, these dynamics connect to early attachment experiences and nervous system patterns that make inconsistency feel familiar.

Healing isn’t about blaming, it’s about understanding.

At Human Kind Wellness, we help clients untangle these patterns and build relationships that feel safe and mutual.

February is Teen Dating Awareness Month.

Many unhealthy behaviors get labeled as “romantic”, especially for teens.

But love doesn’t isolate, monitor, or control.
Healthy love feels safe, respectful, and steady.

If you’re a teen (or raising one) these conversations matter more than ever.

At Human Kind Wellness, we’re here to support healthy relationships from the very beginning.

Valentine’s Day can quietly send the message that romantic love is the only love that matters.

But love shows up in friendships, family, community, self-trust, and healing relationships and all of it counts.

At Human Kind Wellness, we believe love is expansive and everyone deserves to feel supported.

Not all siblings grow up with equal emotional space and that doesn’t mean anyone failed.

“Glass children” are often loving, capable, and deeply empathetic but many learned early to disappear emotionally to keep the system running.

Naming the experience isn’t about blame.
It’s about understanding ourselves with compassion.

If this resonates, you’re not alone and support can help you take up space again.

Chosen feels calm.
Chasing feels exhausting.

If you’ve ever wondered why some relationships feel grounding while others leave you anxious and overthinking, your nervous system may already know the answer.

Chasing isn’t a character flaw, it’s often a learned survival strategy. And it’s something that can be unlearned with awareness, support, and care.

At Human Kind Wellness, we help make sense of these patterns and support healthier, more secure connections.
