It is with tremendous pride that we announce Mary Shook's promotion from the essential role of Purchasing Assistant, to the leadership position of Materials Manager.

For almost 3 years, Mary Shook has been a quiet cornerstone of our hospital's supply operations. While perhaps not on the first line of patient care, her dedication behind the scenes has been nothing short of heroic. She is the person who ensures the right gloves were there for a critical procedure, the specific medication packaging was availabe in a pinch, and that every department had the tools needed to perform their life-saving work. Her work often happened on the bottom floor, alone, surrounded by tons of cardboard boxes and working systematically to unload supplies and get them to appropriate areas.

But, her job was never just about moving boxes; it was about ensuring the continuity of care. Mary approached every shelf stocked and every order placed with a profound understanding that what she did mattered deeply to the well-being of our patients. She did this in an effort to make sure the gears of our facility turned smoothly. She managed more than inventory; she managed our promise to the community. Every bandage, every syringe, every critical supply item that ended up where it needed to be is thanks to her diligent, tireless effort.

Mary understood that her role, while behind the scenes, was wrapped up in the human connection of care. She never saw a stockroom shelf; she saw a patient waiting for treatment, and a clinician having the supplies they needed to provide, often, lifesaving care.

This promotion is more than just a title change; it is a recognition of unweavering commitment, growth, and the embodiment of our hospital's values. It is a testament to tthe belief that every role, no matter where it starts, holds the potential for extraordinary impact. It is a true testament to her heart, her resillience, and her quiet determination.

Moving into the Materials Manager role is a significant leap- from the tactical daily work to the strategic foresight that keeps an entire hospital running. It requires the wisdom she's gained through the countless hours of hard work and the respect she's earned from every department she has supported.

We are so proud to support Mary as she embraces this challenge. This is more than a career advancement; it is a recognition of a person who emobies everything we strive to be: impactful, compassionate, and committed to excellence.

Please join us in offering a standing ovation, a warm hand on the back, and the deepest congratulations to Mary Shook in her new role as the Materials Manager. Mary, we are better because you are here, and we cannot wait to see the incredible thigns you will accomplish in this new chapter!

It is with great pleasure and immensive pride that we celebrate David Bradshaw for an extraordinary 20 years of dedicated service to PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Rocky Mount and his promotion to the Director of Plant Operations. This isn't just a milestone - it's a testament to a journey woven into the very fabric of our institution, filled with dedication, growth, and a deeply personal commitment to our mission.

Two decades ago, David began his career with us as a Purchasing Assistant. From the very start, he approached this work with meticulousness and care that was far more than a job description; it was a committment to ensuring that every department had what is needed to care for our patients. When David started with us, he was young and very shy. He became the silent, steady heartbeat behind the scenes, ensuring the smooth flow of essential supplies with an unwavering sense of duty.

His geunine passion for efficiency and his innate kindness quickly shone through, leading him to role of Materials Manager. During the COVID-19 pandemic, David's was more than essential, making sure our staff were safe and had all the appropriate personal protective equiptment they needed to safely care for those critical COVID patients. His positive attitude, mentorship, and collaborative spirit have left a lasting impression on everyone he has worked with.

He didn't just manage inventory; he fostered relationships, streamlined proccesses with a personal touch, and always made sure to lift up those around him. David became a go-to person, a source of reliability and warmth for countless colleagues.

Today, we are immensely proud to see David as our Director of Plant Operations. This leadership role is a true reflection of his remarkable ascent within our organization. He brings the same humility, hands-on understanding, and heart he had as a Purchasing Assistant to this critical position. Now he oversees the entire physical environment, ensuring that the place where miracles happen every day is safe, functional, and welcoming.

David's story is our story. It's a testament to the idea that within our hospital walls, dedication is cherised, hard work is rewarded, and professional dreams can come true. He has touched the lives of countless staff members,m guided new hires with wisdom and patience, and contributed to an environment that feels like home. I'd also like to tell you, David has long grown out of his shyness. That is totally evident by the pictures of him joining us in Tackle the Tar.

On behalf of the entire PAM Health community, we want to express our deepest, most sincere thanks to David for their two decades of unwavering loyalty, spirit, and heart. His journey has been an inspiration to us all, and we are truly blessed to call him a colleague and a friend.

Please join us in celebrating this incredible milestone for David. Here's to twenty years of making a difference, and to the many more cherished moments to come!

It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce the well-deserved promotion of Angie Baker, to the position of Director of Quality Management.

This announcement is more than just news of a promotion; it is a celebration of an inspiring, 25-year journey defined by heart, resilience, and an unshakeable commitment to our mission.

Angie first walked through our doors in 2000 and began her career with us as a certified nursing assistant (CNA), when she was just 18 years old. She will be the first one to tell you, that first day, we had to peel her off the wall. She was young, scared, and starting her very first public job. If you know Angie, she doesn't back down and it was that determination and persistence, where she developed her strong work ethic and where she provided comfort, dignity, and care during some of our patients' most vulnerable moments. It was at bedside where compassion truly shone, and where she developed the intimate, first-hand understanding of patient needs that has served as a guiding light for every step of her career since. The warmth she offered then is the same warmth she brings to leadership today.

Driven by genuine desire to uplift standards of care not, just for one patient, but for our entire community, Angie pursued her dreams, transitioning from CNA to Registered Nurse (RN). Her journey upward through ranks - including serving as our infection control nurse, employee health nurse, educator, and Director of Plant Operations, an otherwise mostly male-dominated role, has been a continuous testament to her dedication to learning, growing, and serving with excellence.

In her new role as Director of Quality Management, Angie will oversee and direct our entire quality and risk management programs. Her key responsibilites will include designing performance improvement measures, managing accreditation activities, ensuring continuous survey readiness, and utilizing data to drive to clinical excellence and patient safety protocols across the health system.

This promotion will allow Angie's career to come full circle. She will now apply her rich tapestry of experience - from the essential direct care she started in 25 years ago to the strategic insights she has gained over decades - to safeguard and elevate the very quality of the care that defines us. Her unique perspective is our greatest asset in this role, ensuring that every quality initiatve is rooted in the real-world experience of the bedside.

Please join us in the honoring of Angie's remarkable legacy and this incredible new chapter. Her story is a moving reminder of the power of dedication, the potential within each of us, and the meaningful career paths that flourish right within our organization.

We invite you all to share your congratulations and best wishes with Angie Baker as she continues to lead us with both her mind and her heart!!
