Jeannette McCall Waters

Jeanette McCall Waters, 89, born in Oak Hill, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

She was a graduate of Vero Beach High School, a retired beautician, and a homemaker. Jeanette and her husband were founding members of Winter Beach Church of God. Just as her father taught her, she loved fishing on the Indian River, as he was a commercial fisherman who enjoyed the same.

Jeanette served God faithfully, ministering to others as a Sunday School teacher, and through her beautiful singing voice, a gift from God that touched the hearts of many and uplifted spirits.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and children, Paul Waters and Deborah Yancey.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 74 years, W.P. Waters; daughter, Gwen (Leslie) Stubbs; and son, Kenneth (Kathy) Waters.

Jeanette leaves behind a legacy of numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her memory forward.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Winter Beach Cemetery.

WP Waters

Washington Perry Waters was a loving and giving man of faith. He loved his family and friends and gave unconditionally to all who needed it. He took the time to get to know everyone who crossed his path and always had a genuine smile on his face. He was always willing to lend his time to better others. Washington was named after his grandfather, who died in the Civil War, but he chose to go by the nickname WP. He was born in Jennings, FL, to Doyal and Myrta Waters. In 1951, he married his high school sweetheart, Jeanette McCall, and they shared 74 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. They had four children and also helped raise a niece whom they considered their own daughter. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather to many, all of whom he cherished deeply.

WP was an electrician who eventually started his own electrical business in 1973, which is still in operation today. He had a successful career and was well-liked and respected by everyone he worked with. WP retired in his 50s, spent time traveling, and later fulfilled a lifelong dream of owning a farm in the mountains of Virginia. He often joked that farming was a hobby, as he said he never made any money at it. Later in life, he moved back to Fort Pierce, FL, where he lived the remainder of his life. WP was never one for extravagant items, so in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the church of your choice or passing on an act of kindness in his name.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Winter Beach Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Vero Beach, FL 32967.

“Grief is not a disorder, a disease or a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love. The only cure for grief is to grieve.” - Earl Grollman
What emotions do you feel from your grief? Don’t let anyone lead you to think that there is a timeline or any organization to grief. Sometimes grief feels like fear, other times like anxiety, many times sadness, and even it feels like bittersweet moments in the present.
