📚Storytime 📚
We met Lisa (center) yesterday just after the turn around point. She asked if we minded if she ran with us and said she had been trying to keep up with us. We said of course, come on! We got talking and learned her story and learned she had survived a rare form of cancer and has been in remission for 9 years! She ran before cancer and is running again now and has a marathon next on her agenda! She plans to keep running as long as she can. While she is not a patient of ours, many of our patients have similar stories. Everyone has their why and we are grateful to play a part in their stories with their recoveries and get them back to doing things they love.
This is a lot of my why for running. The running community is an amazing community and full of amazing people and amazing stories. There's always something that draws me back in, no matter the season or how much time has passed.
To our patients: thanks for letting us be a part of your stories and recoveries, whatever they may be. You inspire us more than you know!
