Container exercise! This is to help you put away hard to deal with feelings, thoughts, and sensations. This is not "bottling things up" but rather helps you to put away things that are causing distress so that you can go about your day. You can then come back to these feelings, thoughts, and sensations when you have the time and the energy to handle it.

I have been working on developing some recordings for clients, and this is just a very generic relaxation technique. I'll talk you through tightening up your muscles (connecting with your body) and breathing into your muscles. At about 6 minutes into the recording, I start in a peaceful place.

I'm taking new clients! I specialize in trauma, PTSD, ADHD, physical disabilities, and chronic illness. I'm trained in EMDR (in the middle of getting certified which means I'm attending more classes than the trained EMDR therapist and getting more supervision so that I can best help my clients) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Both of these therapies are great for all of my specialties but also for anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. My practice, A Hopeful Place, is located about 2.5 miles off Exit 85 in Rogers.

I try to go workout before going to work at least 3 times a week. This helps me to burn off stress, to get those endorphins moving, and just get me out of my body to move. I encourage all my clients to do some form of movement whether that's strengthening, yoga, stretching, or walking. Not everyone has the finances to join a gym but that doesn't mean you have to stay stagnant.

If you or someone you know intimately has ADHD, then you might notice that you/they might struggle with emotional regulation. This is a brief overview of why it's a struggle. ADHDers struggle with executive functioning (such as planning, organizing, motivation, time blindness, focusing, etc.), which can pile on the ADHDer and can cause emotional dysregulation.

I'm trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), which are both great for trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health-related issues.
