My name is Joe Tawfic, I am a 4th year optometry student at the Illinois College of Optometry. I did my undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago and graduated with a degree in Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience. My family is of Coptic Egyptian descent, something I am very proud of! I love all things sports, and consider myself a diehard Bears fan (I know, enemy territory). I also love cooking and am up for any culinary challenge! Can't wait to get to work at EyeWest and seeing the impact I can have here.

Did you know not only do we style humans, but if you bring a pipecleaner, Ellie will style your favorite friend too! Bunny loves graham crackers and apple sauce over dark leafy greens and carrots. So, now we have two friends with new glasses and awesome vision! Go team! 🐰🩷👓

Ok…wow!!! The donations have been rolling in and we are so grateful for all of your support! Dr Erin Dunphy also came in with boat loads of donations from her community of friends and family! We were able to deliver food and supplies to 18 families in our neighborhood in the last 24 hours! Thank you thank you!

To our EyeWest community of patients~we have a call to action!

We are supporting our community and neighbors affected by activities in our state by serving as a drop-off site for non-perishable food items, personal toiletries, and household items.

We are coordinating with our local church, Word of Peace Lutheran Church

Canned Foods: Vegetables, fruit, beans, meats (chicken, tuna), soups, stews, and pasta.
Grains & Pasta: White/brown rice, pasta, noodles, oats, quinoa, and barley.
Proteins: Peanut butter, nuts, seeds, and jerky.
Baking & Pantry Staples: Flour, sugar, baking mixes, bouillon cubes, and honey.
Oils & Condiments: Vegetable oil, olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, and ketchup.
Dried Goods: Dried fruit, crackers, cereal, and granola bars.
Household items: Tampons and pads, toilet paper, paper towels,
and diapers

Both offices will take donations.

If you know a family impacted by what is happening in our state, please let us know, and we'll coordinate with our fellow community helpers.
