Shield Cancer Screening

Shield is a blood test that screens for colon cancer. It starts with just a blood draw, and can easily be part of your routine blood testing that your healthcare provider orders.

Shield is intended for patients who are 45 years of age and older, show no symptoms, and are at average risk for colon cancer.
Patients with a positive result should be followed by colonoscopy.

The Shield blood test detects signals for colon cancer from DNA shed into the blood. We will receive the test results in approximately 2 weeks.

Cost:
$50 for commercial insurance (plus lab fee)
$0 for Medicare patients (plus lab fee)

Kris graduated with honors from a Structural Balancing Bodywork program in Western North Carolina in 2017. He has an extensive background in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial and trigger point techniques.
Kris utilizes a wide variety of manual therapies to bring balance to the musculoskeletal system with the aim of creating harmony within the body. He specializes in deep tissue therapy for pain relief and recovery, as well as holistic postural alignment. His approach to bodywork focuses on the facilitation of the body’s innate abilities to heal itself. Kris is also knowledgeable in therapeutic relaxation massage, cranial sacral, and myofascial cupping.
