Crocheted Blankets for Kitties in Need

I haven’t posted in a while. I am still making blankets, but have slowed down some. I was working and have been building my crochet business at the same time. You can find that here: Tammy’s Homemade Gifts

We lost Garfield just over a week ago. His kidneys gave out. He had the beginnings of kidney failure when we adopted him. The renal food gave him a good amount of time. He was such a joy and brought so much laughter to our house. He is greatly missed.

We took in a cat that adopted me when she showed up at my work. She lived there for about a year as an employee. She was the best gopher hunter! We named her Muffin and she can be spicy, but she LOVES to cuddle and be inside my jacket.

After being hit by a car, I was allowed to take her home to rehab her and adopt her once she was healed. She now sleeps on top of me at night and loves to play and chase anything we throw. She will remain an indoor kitty now.

Bear is still here and doing great. She doesn’t like other cats, and being blind, she does better with a familiar space, so she lives in my daughter’s room. She loves it!

Ok. All caught up. I should have more time after the holidays to work on kitty blankets and I will post them here.

I didn’t take a picture before donating our last bunch of blankets. We recently lost our cat to old age. After a time of grieving, we went down to North Bay Animal Services to adopt these two cuties. They are a 12 year old bonded pair and she is blind. We just love them so much! We dropped off a stack of blankets and some kitty toys while we were there.

This was a granny square that went out as far as the dark brown row. It is a thick yarn. I wasn’t sure what I could do with it. I found some washable wool in my stash and added the red and green stripes (finishing up the yarn I had), then finished with a chenille brown. I love the very 70’s look that it has. It will be super cozy and warm for a special cat somewhere.

Tomorrow we will be delivering 28 blankets to the Rohnert Park Animal Shelter for their kitties. That brings this years total to 47 blankets donated so far. Whoo hoo!! 😻😺😽

I was gifted a bin full of granny squares. My daughter and I put together sets of 6-9 squares to make kitty sized blankets. We will stitch them together and donate them when we are finished. I’m so happy to see someone‘s hard work go to a great cause. 🥰

I like this one. The granny square is so quick to work up. It’s a good way to use up the ends of skeins.

How convenient. I just use the cat on my lap to measure the width of this blanket. 👍🏻😁🐈‍⬛
