Just got back from The Confidence Bar injection training in Chicago for continuing medical education and I’m honestly feeling so grateful. I had the best time learning alongside other aesthetic practitioners and a huge thank you to our hosts for creating such a welcoming, hands-on, and education-focused space!

As a nurse injector, I can’t stress enough how important continued education is in this field. Techniques evolve, safety standards evolve, and staying current isn’t optional. It’s my responsibility to as a part of protecting my clients and making sure every treatment is done with precision and care!

We love a good skincare find as much as the next girl but no product, no TikTok routine, no “dupe” is going to replace having someone who actually knows your skin.

An esthetician isn’t just giving you a facial. A few facts:
-they're reading your skin in real time
-they're adjusting treatments based on what it actually needs
-they're helping you unlearn bad habits (we’ve all had them)
-they're building a routine that makes sense for you, not the internet

PSA: please stop doing “tox at home” from TikTok 🥲
Someone has to say it so please hear me out! I know it looks easy online. I know it looks cheaper.But this trend is actually so unbelievably unsafe. Botox (or any tox) is literally a prescription medication + one of the most powerful toxins we use in medicine and it’s only safe when it’s FDA-approved,properly dosed, injected by a trained, licensed professional When people are doing it at home or buying it online, none of that is guaranteed.

REAL TALK:
-You don’t actually know what you’re injecting
-A lot of “tox” sold online is counterfeit, contaminated, or not regulated at all
-Dosing is NOT guesswork
-Even small mistakes can lead to serious complications because the strength can vary a lot
-Placement matters more than you think
-Being off by millimeters can cause drooping eyelids,uneven smile, trouble speaking or swallowing and it can affect your breathing

There have been reports of people being hospitalized with botulism-like symptoms after unsafe injections
And NO this isn’t fear tactics. This is straight from actual medical reports and health agencies.

When tox is done correctly in a medical setting? It’s very safe. When it’s done at home or from random online products? Totally different story. Saving money is not worth risking your face… or your health.

Genuinely love all of you and i'm thinking about your health not my wallet. 🤍
