Horses Healing Hearts

Horses Healing Hearts Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, or EAP, is one of the most effective forms of experiential therapies.

EAP uses interactive activities in place of traditional sessions. With EAP, sessions are designed to meet your unique needs. The activities in each session require you and the horse to accomplish a specific goal. Your reaction to the horse, and the horse’s reaction to you, can lead to better communication and interaction with others. It can also assist you in moving towards accomplishing your personal goals. With EAP you will discover new, more effective solutions for the challenges in your life.

Grief touches every part of our being—mind, body, and spirit and is especially difficult during the holidays. We will be offering a retreat "From Loss to Light, Healing Pathways: Grief, Art, and Horses" on November 22nd at Horses Healing Hearts in Rolla.

Healing Pathways offers a unique and gentle approach to processing loss through the calming presence of horses and the creative expression of neurographic art.

Retreat Highlights
Participants are guided through mindful interactions with horses that foster connection, trust, and emotional awareness. These experiences are complemented by a neurographic art session—an expressive drawing technique that helps the brain form new pathways for healing, resilience, and release. Together, these practices create a safe, supportive environment where individuals can explore their grief, express what words cannot and begin to move forward with renewed balance and peace.

Who Should Attend?
This retreat welcomes individuals navigating grief from all walks of life, ages 18 and up. No prior experience with horses or art is required—just an open heart and the desire for healing.

On , let’s remember the power of simply being with a horse.

When we stand beside a horse — when we breathe, brush, or move together — something remarkable happens: our nervous systems sync. Their steady presence invites us to slow down, to soften, and to find balance and grounding in our own bodies.

This is co-regulation in action — two beings finding balance together. In that shared space, stress hormones ease, our hearts steady, and we reconnect with trust, awareness, and hope.

Working with horses reminds us that well-being grows through connection, and that navigating mental health doesn't have to happen alone — we can find our footing again, together. 🐴💚
