Horses Healing Hearts

Horses Healing Hearts Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, or EAP, is one of the most effective forms of experiential therapies.

EAP uses interactive activities in place of traditional sessions. With EAP, sessions are designed to meet your unique needs. The activities in each session require you and the horse to accomplish a specific goal. Your reaction to the horse, and the horse’s reaction to you, can lead to better communication and interaction with others. It can also assist you in moving towards accomplishing your personal goals. With EAP you will discover new, more effective solutions for the challenges in your life.

Closing out the year of the snake 2025 🐍 to welcome in the year of the horse 2026🐎

Freedom
This is the year fences fall quietly. Not with drama, but with certainty. You realize which walls were never locked and which ones you kept standing out of habit. Freedom in the Horse year is not escape. It is choosing your own direction and accepting the wind that comes with this direction. Paths open through action abd planning and motion becomes clarity. Confidence becomes quiet, grounded, undeniable. You stop explaining who you are because your energy speaks for you when you walk into rooms with your own authenticity.

Independence
The Horse walks beside the ones who never quite fit. The black sheep. The wanderers. The ones who learned early how to stand alone. This year honors self loyalty over approval. Belonging begins with yourself.

Truth
The Horse does not slow down for illusions. Honesty becomes necessary, not optional. Truth becomes lighter than pretense.

Shadow
There is a warning woven into the year of the horse... Running without purpose leads to exhaustion. Escape is not the same as freedom. The Horse asks for intention, not avoidance. Rest when needed. Choose direction before speed.

Gift
The Horse gives courage that feels like remembering. A return to instinct. A return to breath. A return to the part of you that knows when it is time to go.... a release of the year of the snake 🐍 shedding of negative patterns, negative influences, negative energy. The year of the horse, not standing small, but standing confidently in your own power, your own true authenticity and energy and the inspiration that comes with standing tall, strong and proud.

May the the year of the horse be the best yet 🥂✨️

Today I had the privilege of attending Wreaths Across America at the Rolla, Missouri cemetery. It was a humbling experience to pause, reflect, and honor the men and women who served our country. Their legacy lives on through our remembrance. 🇺🇸

The equines have earned a vacation and will be on break for the next three months or so, depending on weather. That does not mean the humans will be resting. We have been approved for the VA Applied Sports Grant and therefore will be offering 8 free sessions for active duty service members and veterans, starting in the spring. If you are interested, please contact me at hhh_llc@yahoo.com or 573-578-0548. Funding is limited so be sure to sign up now. We will also be offering our CEU program for social workers again so keep checking back for those dates. In preparation for the spring, we’d also like suggestions for workshops/retreats that you would like us to host. Thanks for all of your support.

This weekend we were pleased to host the "Loss to Light" grief retreat. We spent time talking about the stages of grief and then applying that to create a piece of neurographic art, focusing on the emotions related to grief, went to the arena to create a representation of the journey of healing and having equines join each individual in their journey. We ended the retreat with a mindfulness exercise in the arena and some process journaling. We appreciate everyone for coming out and allowing themselves to be vulnerable in this safe space. We look forward to our next event, topic and date to be announced later.
