Robert F. Kennedy Jr. says our healthcare system is broken and the incentives are part of the problem.
"Right now, our healthcare system is a bundle of perverse incentives that actually incentivize every level of the system to keep patients sick," he explains.
Hospitals, doctors, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical firms often make more money from treating illness than preventing it.
"What we need to do… is to change those incentives so that people can do well by doing good," RFK Jr. adds.
Under his vision, physicians and hospitals would be rewarded for helping patients get better, not just prescribing more pills.
