SLSF We exist to support children and adults with disabilities through philanthropy for Northwest Special Recreation Association

Special Leisure Services Foundation
(SLSF), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit
foundation, is the fundraising
arm of Northwest Special Recreation
Association. NWSRA is a partnership
of seventeen park districts in the
northwest suburban corridor of
Chicago providing year-round
recreational services to children
and adults with disabilities. Current participation levels exceed
18,000 registrations per year. Through participation in NWSRA
activities, individuals with disabilities
are more productive members
of their community, realizing greater
independence, self esteem and self
worth.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Dennis Hanson, a longtime supporter, champion, and friend of Special Leisure Services Foundation and NWSRA.

Dennis served as an SLSF Trustee, was a dedicated member of the Palatine Golf Event Committee and Kevin’s Club, and was a strong, loyal supporter of all things NWSRA and SLSF. His generosity, commitment, and belief in creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities left a lasting impact on our organization and community.

We are deeply grateful for Dennis’s years of service and support. His legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the programs he helped make possible. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
