William "Bill" Robert Krick
Mr. William "Bill" R. Krick, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 21, 2026. Bill passed away at his home in Rome, Georgia, surrounded by his family and friends.
Bill was born in Meriden, Connecticut, on September 5, 1942, to the late Robert Henry Krick and the late Katherine Cashman Krick. Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany from 1961 to 1963. Upon his discharge, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney as a jet engine mechanic. He held various positions over the years before retiring as a Senior Process Planner at the Middleton, Connecticut facility, after 36 years of service on March 31,1999.
Bill wished that his anonymity with Alcoholics Anonymous be made public. His sobriety date was October 2, 2005. He was a proud member, friend, and sponsor to many in the twelve-step program. It was God's grace and the fellowship of AA that allowed him to live a life without being dependent on alcohol. After living in Deep River, Connecticut for nearly 25 years, Bill and his wife, Grace, moved to Rome, Georgia in 2020, where they bought a home, found a church, and lived happily ever after.
He is survived by the love of his life and wife, Grace Krick; son, David Krick (Barbara) of Alamogordo, NM; daughters, Suzanne Barnett (Andrew) or Leominster, MA and Sherry Krick of Meriden, CT; stepsons, Jimmy Dougherty (Sandra) of Chatsworth, Georgia, Shawn Dougherty (Vickie) of Summerville, GA and Mark Dougherty (Sarah) of Ringgold, GA; sister, Judith Potter of MA; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Krick.
In accordance with his wishes, Bill was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at 1PM at Northside Church, 75 N. Floyd Park Rd., Rome, GA., 30165 with Rev. Phil Wade officiating.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25th from 12 PM until 1 PM at the church.
