Who should consider a low-dose CT (LDCT) lung cancer screening, and why does it matter? 🤔

LDCT screening is recommended for adults at higher risk for lung cancer who meet the following criteria:

-Ages 50–77 years with Medicare, ages 50-80 with private insurance
-A 20 pack-year smoking history (smoking 1 pack/day for 20 years, or equivalent)
-Current smoker or one who has quit smoking within the last 15 years

Early detection is key! 🔑 LDCT can find lung cancer before symptoms appear, improving treatment options and survival rates. This screening is low radiation, noninvasive, and can be life-saving for those at risk.

November marks Lung Cancer Awareness Month, a reminder that early detection matters. 🫁 ❤️ Through low-dose CT screening, our imaging specialists help identify lung cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage.

To qualify for a low-dose CT screening, patients must meet all of the following criteria:

✅ Ages 50-77 years old with Medicare; 50-80 with private insurance
✅ Asymptomatic (no signs of symptoms of lung cancer)
✅ To***co smoking history of at least 20 pack years
(one pack year = smoking one pack per day for one year; 1 pack = 20 ci******es)
✅ Current smoker or one who has quit smoking within the last 15 years
✅ Receives a written order for LDCT lung cancer screening
