🌶️🔥 Chili Cook-Off Fun at Highlands! 🔥🌶️

What an incredible time we had at our Chili Cook-Off! The competition was fierce, the flavors were amazing, and the fellowship was even better!

A huge THANK YOU to all of our wonderful hospice representatives who participated!! Transitions Hospice Care - Rome, Georgia, Willowbrook Hospice, Tapestry Hospice, Affinity Hospice, PruittHealth, Amedisys, Inspire Hospice and Palliative Care, whether you brought your best chili recipe or donated a raffle basket. Your partnership and support mean so much to us and our residents. We are so grateful for each of you! ❤️

A very special thank you to Bill Collins, our amazing County Commissioner, City of Rome, GA - Government, for serving as our guest judge. We appreciate you taking the time to join us and help crown our winners!

Throwback Thursday

We’re taking it back to when Ms. Irene and Ms. Redonna, Transitions Hospice Care - Rome, Georgia brought the fun with an Aussie-Themed Trivia day!

From learning fun facts about Australia to lots of laughs and friendly competition, our residents had an absolute blast testing their knowledge. There’s nothing better than a little trivia, great company, and memories made together.

Thank you, Ms. Irene and Ms. Redonna, for always bringing such creative and engaging activities to our community! We can’t wait for the next themed adventure!

Love was definitely in the air at our Valentine’s Luncheon!!

Our dining room was filled with sweet treats, festive décor, and even sweeter company. Residents enjoyed a delicious meal, great conversation, and plenty of laughs as we celebrated friendship, love, and the joy of being together.

From heartfelt moments to smiling faces around every table, it was a beautiful reminder that love isn’t just for one day! It’s something we share all year long here at Highlands.

This week our Marketing Team has been out in the community making meaningful connections! 💙

We teamed up with Willowbrook Hospice host a Lunch & Learn at Piedmont Hospital in Cartersville, where we had the opportunity to share valuable information, answer questions, and connect with healthcare professionals who are making a difference every day.

Earlier in the week, we also visited the Rockmart Senior Center to collaborate, build relationships, and share more about all that Highlands has to offer.

We are so grateful for the partnerships that allow us to better serve seniors and families in our community.

We would like to take a moment to recognize Haven Easterwood, our incredible Resident Care Coordinator, for truly going above and beyond this weekend. As temperatures dropped, Haven came in on his time off to make sure our residents were safe, comfortable, and warm.

Not only did he ensure their needs were met, but he also spent time engaging residents in fun activities to keep spirits high and smiles bright despite the cold weather. His compassion, dedication, and heart for our residents never go unnoticed.

Thank you, Haven, for always putting our residents first and for being such a vital part of our community. We are so grateful for you!

Yesterday, as fresh snow lay like a blank canvas outside, we found inspiration and pulled out our own canvases inside!!

Our residents spent the day painting and creating beautiful works of art filled with color, creativity, and self-expression. It was a beautiful reminder that inspiration can be found everywhere! And creativity has no season!

We cannot finish out the week without celebrating Charlesha for National Activity Professionals week! She is the true heart and spirit of our community. The joy, energy, and love she pours into our residents each and every day is nothing short of a gift!! From the laughter she sparks to the meaningful moments she creates, she makes our facility feel like home.

We are beyond lucky to have someone so compassionate, dedicated, and full of life leading our activities. Thank you, Charlesha, for all that you do and for the countless smiles you bring daily!! We appreciate you more than words can say!

A big thank you to Amy and Ashley from Hearth Hospice for coming out to play Balloon Tennis with our residents!

Your energy, kindness, and willingness to jump right in brought so much laughter, movement, and joy to everyone involved. We are truly grateful for the time you spent with our residents and for the smiles you helped create.

Our residents had such a great time playing Memory Ball!

As they tossed the ball, they answered fun questions about their past: sparking sweet stories, big smiles, and lots of laughter. It was wonderful learning new things about our friends while keeping everyone moving, engaged, and having fun.

Moments like these remind us how powerful connection, memories, and joy can be!
