A little about me...
My name is Susan and I graduated from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI with a degree in Pastry Arts in 1996. I spent the next 2 years working at a busy wholesale bakery as the manager of the “Finishing” Department which was responsible for all cake decorating, pies/tarts and mini pastries. There, I worked 90+ hours a week working on my decorating skills.
After my oldest daughter was born, I took a step out of the pastry business and took a job at the local hospital in the Radiation Oncology Department. Soon, I was making cakes and pies for my coworkers and then a side business was born! I still work in the department now, 18 years later, as the Billing Manager but my love of baking and cake decorating has never left me.
I now live in Romeoville, IL with my husband and 3 children; 20, 5 and 4! They are the love of my life and I work as hard as I do for them.
About the time I was thinking of a name for my cake page, my mom passed away. When I was discussing different ideas with my family, one thing that I remembered is how my mom used to embarrass my brother and I by BLASTING Pour Some Sugar On Me (Def Leopard) in the car when she would drop us off at school. My oldest helped translate that into a more appropriate name and ‘Talk Sugar To Me’ was born!
