We are delighted to share some photos from the successful employee flu shot clinic held at Hampshire Center in October.💉The clinic was a proactive measure to help protect our staff and residents from the seasonal flu. A big thank you to all the employees who participated! Your commitment to health and safety is greatly appreciated and contributes significantly to maintaining a healthy environment for everyone in our facility.

On Friday, Hampshire Center held a pinning ceremony to recognize our Veterans for their dedication and sacrifice. This event was in collaboration with Grant County Hospice and Capon Bridge VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Post. The purpose of the gathering was to honor and express profound gratitude to our resident veterans, ensuring their service and commitment to their country are never forgotten. Happy Veterans Day to all our Veterans!!

This week’s Leading with Heart recipient is Paige Poore. Paige started with Genesis in 2017 as a CNA, moving to the Hampshire Center in 2018. Paige then became a nurse and shortly after moved into the Infection Preventionist/Nurse Educator position. In this dual role, Paige is instrumental in safeguarding the health and well-being of residents and staff at the Hampshire Center. She meticulously develops and implements infection control strategies, conducts comprehensive training programs for the nursing team, and ensures adherence to the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Paige's unwavering commitment to the center is evident in every aspect of her work. She approaches her responsibilities with an infectious positivity, consistently greeting everyone with a warm and reassuring smile. Her dedication, expertise, and cheerful demeanor make her an invaluable member of the Genesis family and a true asset to the Hampshire Center community. Congratulations Paige and thanks for all you do!!!

Hampshire Center hosted a car show over the weekend, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the residents. They are eagerly looking forward to the next one!

Lots of Halloween fun at the Hampshire Center. Some of the staff participated in a pumpkin decorating contest. The snowman took the win! Then this afternoon the residents and staff enjoyed a costume party!!

A huge shout out to Denise and Amanda, two exceptional CNAs at the Hampshire Center! They both received a Hospice Hug, an award for their outstanding care. Carol Arbaugh of Hospice of the Panhandle nominated them, stating: "Recently, when our team was running behind schedule, Denise and Amanda made sure that one of our actively dying patients received the utmost care, comfort, and dignity. Their compassion and commitment remind us what hospice care is truly about — being there when it matters most.”

Last week, the Hampshire Center hosted its annual Alzheimer's Walk. Despite the windy and cold weather conditions, a number of individuals participated. Residents remained indoors where it was warm. We extend our gratitude to all who assisted and participated. As a team, we successfully raised over $1300 for the Alzheimer's Association this year!! ❤️

A couple of our residents recently enjoyed an outing with the Activities department, which included shopping at Walmart and a luncheon.
