It was all fun & games at our first family Christmas yesterday! 🥰 We like good, healthy competition so we always have a bunch of silly games thanks to my cousin Sydney.
We started with knocking popcorn off a cup with noisemakers, the competed for who could draw the best snowman on a plate on your head, and this year the Ornament Toss turned into a whole Sweet 16-style bracket competition! 🕺
I feel incredibly fortunate to have this time with my extended family. 🫶

OK, I’m 43 years old and there has to be a better way to eat a hard-shell taco‼️ 🌮
Why does it always explode on the first bite and leave me with a plate full of taco shrapnel⁉️

You already know: my friend group loves a theme and an activity! 🎭 🛼🥸
Last night we had our annual “Goshen in NYC” night out. This year’s agenda: holiday cheer, cozy dinner plans… and curling at thelawnclubnyc first! 🥌🕺🙌
We had cocktails and snacks in our own personal, heated cabin, and had an outdoor curling lane and a lawn for other games like co****le, ladder golf, or pong.
While the girls’ team didn’t take home the win, we did discover some unexpected skills (and plenty of laughs) along the way. Wouldn’t trade this tradition with these humans (including those who could not be there last night) for anything! ❄️🥂

Osteria al Doge is the quintessential pre-Broadway show stop—cozy, timeless, and always buzzing with curtain-time energy. Cioppino is my forever order: delicate seafood in a rich broth and crusty bread for dipping! Big favors their thin-crust pizza, and their salads are big enough to share.

Today’s cure for the cold? A Dutch oven filled to the brim with bubbling green pozole. Spicy, cozy, and warming me up from the inside out! 💚

Good morning, y’all! 👋 Happy Monday!
A new week is here, and honestly? I have been STRESSING about how much I need to get done between now and the holidays. 😬 The lists are long and the days are short, ya know?
So this week I’m choosing grace over perfection. Patience over pressure. Compassion for myself and everyone around me. I’m choosing to move through the next few days a little softer. 🤍 I hope. 🤣

❤️ Cranberry Tiramisu ❤️
For our belated Goshen Friendsgiving this year, I decided to shoot for the stars (or at least the app) and make their gorgeous, wildly complicated cranberry tiramisu. 🍒✨
Was it a labor of love? Absolutely. 🫶 Did I question my life choices somewhere between simmering cranberries and assembling all those layers? Also yes. 🤣 But the result… chef’s kiss. 😘 A festive, tangy, holiday glow-up of the classic tiramisu, and worth every minute.
I was so grateful to share it with our friends today, and even though Thanksgiving may be over, I’m still so grateful for good friends, good food, and desserts that make you feel like you deserve a medal. 🏅

Need a festive cocktail for your next holiday party? Try this Blackberry Basil Martini! 🍃
This is a beautiful balance of sweet berries and a little tartness from the lime, with the added benefit of herbaceous basil!
The recipe is:

A handful of blackberries (at least 6)
4-5 basil leaves
3/4 oz honey simple syrup
3/4 oz lime juice
2 oz Do Good Spirits vodka

Add the blackberries to a shaker. Smack the basil leaves in your hand to release their oils, then toss them in. Muddle everything until it looks like jam.
Add ice, simple syrup, lime juice, and vodka.
Shake well, then strain into a martini glass. I garnish mine with one big, beautiful basil leaf.

Isn’t this festive and pretty? It’s also delicious!

This bowl is basically a warm hug… and it came together in just 30 minutes! 🤩
I’m all about making big batches of sauces (hi, Ina Garten’s Cioppino sauce!) and freezing them in leftover Chinese soup containers. It makes weeknight cooking feel fancy without the effort.
I’ve been craving Chicken Cacciatore all week, so while the sauce thawed, I tossed chicken thighs and cippolini onions into the air fryer and cooked up some nutty farro in chicken stock. And voilà—dinner magic ✨
The most delicious bowl… plus leftovers for later this week! 🙌

Shrimp & grits just hits different on a cold, rainy Sunday. 🫶
It’s a soulful brunch dish, and the kind of meal that makes the weather outside feel like part of the vibe instead of the problem. ☔️ 🤗
The Penrose is a UES institution, and their shrimp & grits has sautéed spinach and scallions with the spicy seasoned shrimp & sausage, and the creamiest of grits. Absolutely delicious!

WHERE DID THE SNOW COME FROM?! 😮❄️🥶 The and folks got together today to decorate the fountain for the holidays, and as we were setting up the toy solidiers and eight Christmas trees, the most ridiculous snow squall kicked up! 🌨️❄️🌨️
While snow certainly evokes a holiday feel, I think I would have preferred the snow to start *after* we finished setting up! 😂
We have a bit more to do next week, but everything should be set up before next Saturday’s festivities! 🎄
If you’re local or local-ish, the Village of Goshen will host a day of shopping on the village green before the holiday parade at 4:30pm and the tree lighting at 5:30pm. Swipe to the end for all the details!
