Your foot can warn you before a wound appears.
For people with diabetes, a developing ulcer often starts with one thing: heat.
When part of the foot becomes 2–4°F warmer than the same spot on the other foot, it can mean tissues are breaking down under the skin even if you don’t see a sore yet.
Watch for:
• One foot feeling warmer than the other
• A hot spot on the heel, toes, or ball of the foot
• Redness + no pain
