💚 In Honor of National Kidney Awareness Month 💚
Today, we honor the life and legacy of a truly remarkable woman, Cobi Joy Turner.
Cobi was one of the most loved and cherished souls to ever grace this world. Her infectious smile and gentle spirit had a way of bringing light into even the darkest of days. She had a deep passion for dance, dedicating over 30 years to teaching and inspiring others at Powell-Moise School of Dance, and serving as an active member and former president of the Dixie Dance Masters Association of Teachers.
Cobi was, without question, a true warrior.
While courageously battling stage 4 kidney disease, she continued to rise above every challenge placed before her. Through dialysis treatments, hospital stays, and even a kidney transplant, she never allowed her circumstances to define her. Instead, she pressed forward, earning her Master of Social Work degree from SUNO and being inducted into the Phi Alpha National Honor Society, a testament to her resilience and determination.
Like a phoenix rising, Cobi showed us what it means to fight with grace, strength, and unwavering faith. Her journey was not just her own, it became a source of inspiration for everyone blessed to know her.
Though she is deeply missed, her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those she touched.
Thank you, Cobi, for showing the world what true strength, courage, determination, and, most importantly, what love truly looks like. 💚
