Last week, ACPA's Sarah Dalton conducted a highly successful training session for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), focusing on Concrete Pavement Inspection Best Practices. The comprehensive session covered the entire pavement lifecycle, starting with fundamental elements like materials and mix design best practices, continuing through on-site processes like paving and acceptance testing, and concluding with effective repair methods. The class was well-attended, bringing together over 50 MoDOT project inspectors and staff.

Mental health in the construction trades has become a growing concern, with workers often experiencing higher rates of stress, anxiety, depression, and su***de compared to other industries. Stigma around seeking help remains a significant barrier, though awareness is increasing.
