This October is National Down Syndrome Awareness Month. At Thomas and Lewin, Associates, we are dedicated to recognizing and respecting individual differences and disabilities by raising awareness and offering support. Dr. Athena Thomas’s book, “With Down Syndrome: I Am Normal For Me,” shares an important message about inclusion and self-worth for everyone. Copies of her book are available at the link in our bio. Today we recognize people living with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is the most common lifelong physical disability, affecting a person’s ability to walk, move, or communicate, but every individual’s experience with cerebral palsy is unique. Some people require lifelong support, while others live independently. Every story is different, but our community stands together—unique and united.
