Cognitive distortions are a learned and patterned way of thinking that can be difficult to recognize. They often increase emotional distress and heighten symptoms of anxiety or depression. They can be challenging to identify and change.

However, therapy can help you examine these thoughts and build healthier thinking patterns with the goal to reduce emotional distress and achieve long term wellness.
