Parenting is tough and we understand child and adolescent issues. We work with you, to help you untangle the mess so you can rebuild trust and start living positively again. We believe in brief solutions based counseling for most situations. Usually, our goal is not to keep people in therapy long-term. It is our goal to help you adjust your relational skills and start living life with more success. We partner with you to help you to mend important relationships, to learn healthier coping skills, add some positive strategies, and to live without self-harm. Although there is a place for it in the world – At Blue Sky Counseling Center we do not make you lay down on a chase sofa and tell us all about when you were 4 years old – nor do we sit behind you and write copious notes and say nothing but Mmmm and uh Huh the whole time. We do not play board games for an hour and then ask you how you feel...

We know that counseling needs to be a conversation – extending and sharing insight together. True learning occurs when people are emotionally engaged and able to ask questions and compare how their beliefs join with the life-skill at hand. We know that you have good ideas, know yourself best, and want to get better! We understand that sometimes the big issue for "other people" may not the biggest issue to you. We need to hear your side to help.
