Testimonials

Dear Charlie, David & Staff,
This is a love letter to let you all know how much I appreciate the tender loving care you give to my mom, Frankie Baldry; from the very clean premises; cozy sitting rooms; delicious kitchen aromas; to tender attentions of nurses, attendants, and even other residents. I’m so far away it’s hard to imagine the day-to-day life of my mom and sister, Jeannie. I miss my mom so much, but I am so greatly relieved to know she is in such a wonderful home as provided by Countryside Inn. We had some wonderful visits with mom, and I think, on some level (spirit to spirit), she realized we were family and love her very much. Thank you once again for all you do to make mom’s life comfortable, safe and productive as possible. With Love and Gratitude,

Becky Hansing

Thank you so much for making CSI Rosemary’s home for so many years. She really enjoyed the activities and having people to visit with. She cuts out every week’s news article from the paper and kept track of what was going on after she left! Keep up the good work! Family of Rose Mary Brockhaus

David and Charlie,

The care and quality of life you provided for my mother these last three years was excellent. When she and my brother Jim entered Countryside, she was unhappy about leaving her home, but you hung in there and soon Countryside was “home” to her. The Countryside family—both residents and staff—truly is a family, one which extends to the families of the residents. Every time I visit I am greeted with warm smiles and laughter filled conversation. Something is always happening at CSI where a myriad of activities cross a wide range of interests and talents: quilt-making, canning, pie baking, card and game playing, Wii bowling, exercise class, and, of course, the marvelous “Ding-a-Lings”—the list is endless. My mother particularly enjoyed the children: the children of the staff, the kids from the local schools, and the 3rd graders from Hankinson who visited after becoming pen pals; Countryside is a place kids visit and feel at home. It is a place full of life. When Mom’s health began to fail, again you didn’t give up. You provided more care than “assisted living” implies and continued to surround her with love. I will always regret that I didn’t arrive before she passed away, but I am comforted that she was in such loving and capable hands. She loved you both and knew you were taking care of her. My brother Dick and I thank you not only for what you did for Mom, but what you continue to do for my brother Jim and for what you have done for us. Having Mom and Jim at Countryside alleviated the constant worry about falls, poor nutrition, bad weather, ill health and power outages. We knew they would be cared for, doctor’s appointments would be handled and they would be a part of a larger family. And now that Mom is gone, Jim is still home at Countryside; he has become an integral part of that community and feels secure there. As I have told you before, I know you both have stars in your crowns in heaven. Thank you for being there when we needed you; thank you for continuing your marvelous work. Sincerely,
Barbara Porter

David and Charlie,
The refund check is being returned; we didn’t really expect a refund because we felt your care for Mom continued while she was at the local nursing home. Please use these funds as an extra “thank you” to the staff who cared for Mom, for a memorial, or just to continue providing the outstanding quality of care to others in the future – whatever you decide will be fine with us. It is just a small token of our gratitude for the care and concern you provided for Mom and for working with us to facilitate that care. You and your staff played a major part in providing loving care for Mom these past 15 months even though it was a challenge at times; as her family, we’re deeply grateful to you and feel she could not have been at a better place. You accepted her at Countryside (August 2006) even though she was wheelchair dependent and carefully worked to restore her mobility. Also, your recommendation of the Rosholt Care Center turned out to be wise; they were very helpful / caring during a very difficult time. We especially thank you for visiting Mom in her final days; we couldn’t be with her and are grateful you took the time to be there in our place. God bless you all!! Judy, Betty, Nancy and Roy Herzog
(and our families)

Words cannot thoroughly express how much we appreciate all you did for our mother Stella, who was also “My Stella” to you. Your generosity to her family was overwhelming and priceless. Thank you for your friendship as it made things easier for us during this time. We cannot thank you enough. The Hanson sisters

"I would like to thank the staff at Countryside Inn Assisted Living in Rosholt. My family and friend, whom I affectionately call “mom," moved to Rosholt about two years ago. In March, a decision was made between mom and I for her to move into a home that would have a memory unit. Hard decision. Emotionally and finically overwhelming. The staff at Countryside Inn has been so kind and so gracious in their help with us. A special thanks to David for helping, along with two others, on moving mom AND setting up her new room to perfection and answering all our questions. A special thank you to Charlie for the help we needed with paperwork and business! David and Charlie made time to assure us all would work out, and proved it to be true with their actions. The staff has done a wonderful service to help mom settle in as family, and the residents have made her feel very special. My heart is full of gratitude. Countryside Inn is one of the many blessings we have found in the town of Rosholt, S.D.

Our residents were absolute troopers during this game! They didn’t mind their hair getting messy under the shower caps, what they thought would be a game of apple dunking turned into a hilarious round of Cheeto puff tossing! 😆

✨✨Our Countryside Inn family—both current and former residents’ loved ones✨✨

We are excited to announce a special project here at Countryside- We are creating a Countryside Cookbook filled with recipes from our residents and their families.

Food has a beautiful way of connecting generations, sparkling memories, and bringing people together. We would love for you to be part of this keepsake by sharing a favorite recipe from your family. Not only will this be a wonderful keepsake filled with cherished traditions and stories, but the finished cookbooks will be sold as a fundraiser to support our Activity Department.

It could be a dish that has been passed down from years, a holiday tradition, or even a simple comfort food that warms the heart.

How to participate:
- Send us your recipe (direct message on facebook), or drop it off with Mya. This can be typed or handwritten, a copy is great.
- Include the residents name so we can note who the recipe came from.
- Feel free to share a short memory or story behind the dish, it will make our cookbook extra special.

Please have recipes given to a staff member or Mya by November 1st, 2025.

Once completed, the cookbook will be shared with residents and family members to treasure!
Thank you for helping us celebrate the traditions, favors, that make Countryside so special.c

🍁 Fall Fun at CSI:

Our residents had a great time playing games, enjoying caramel apple & pretzel treats, sipping cider, and topping it all off with pumpkin floats!

We also took a trip to the “CSI pumpkin patch” so everyone could pick out their own pumpkin to paint next week — stay tuned for our pumpkin painting contest!
