Walking backwards is a great exercise - as long as you are careful about not falling! Whether you are already used to exercising or not, start off by walking backwards just a few steps along a kitchen counter or staircase. Keep your hand on a stable surface or ready to grab the stair spindles in case you feel off balance. This activity feels odd at first but the benefits are many.

As always, speak to your physician first - especially if you have neurological or balance issues.

One of the benefits of walking backward is that it can help strengthen your mind and coordination.

One thing that they all have in common is that exercise can help calm symptoms. It may not feel like activity is the first thing you want to do when you are suffering, but the key is knowing the correct amount of exercise for you and your body.
