Is it DCD/Dyspraxia—or Something More? Why a Thorough Evaluation Matters

So many children struggle with coordination, handwriting, organization, or keeping up in school—and it’s easy to assume they’re “just clumsy” or “not trying hard enough.” But conditions like Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)/Dyspraxia often go unnoticed, and the impact can reach far beyond motor skills.

Kids who are working twice as hard to keep up may experience frustration, anxiety, low self-esteem, or avoid tasks they find overwhelming. That’s why a comprehensive psychological evaluation is so important. A full assessment can help identify whether DCD/Dyspraxia, ADHD, a learning difference, or emotional factors are affecting your child’s daily functioning and mental health.

Understanding why your child is struggling is the first step toward giving them the right support—at home, at school, and in therapy.

If you’ve ever wondered whether something deeper might be going on, this article is a great place to start.

During the holidays, it’s easy to overlook the small things you’re doing to take care of yourself. ✨
But these moments matter, often more than the big, picture-perfect ones. Whether you set a boundary, reached out for support, noticed a moment of joy, or simply rested when you needed to… these are meaningful wins. ❄️💛
They show growth, self-awareness, and care for your mental and emotional well-being.
This season, give yourself credit for the quiet progress happening beneath the surface. 🎄
Small steps count. You count. 🤍

The holidays can bring joy and stress, and that’s okay.
But a little shift in perspective can make everything feel lighter. Gratitude isn’t about ignoring what’s hard, it’s about noticing what’s still good, even in the chaos.
This season, try swapping stress for presence, pressure for peace, and “I have to” for “I get to.”
Tiny mindset shifts, big emotional impact.
