Help Me Grow - Long Island (HMG-LI) powers up Nassau and Suffolk counties to effectively support chi

Help Me Grow – Long Island (HMG-LI) is a FREE resource connecting families and providers to community resources and child development information in Nassau and Suffolk counties, with the mission of promoting optimal development of Long Island’s young children. HMG-LI provides no-fee, virtual, ongoing support to families to meet the needs of their young children, and trains providers to use developmental screens with the families they serve.

Help Me Grow – Long Island (HMG-LI) es un recurso GRATUITO que conecta a las familias y proveedores con recursos de la comunidad e información del desarrollo infantil en los condados de Nassau y Suffolk, con la misión de promover el desarrollo óptimo de los niños pequeños de Long Island. HMG-LI brinda apoyo gratuito, virtual y continuo a las familias para satisfacer las necesidades de sus hijos pequeños, y capacita a proveedores en el uso de evaluaciones del desarrollo con las familias que ellos atienden.

New in 2026 (tax year 2025), many New York families may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 per child through New York State’s expanded Empire State Child Credit – simply by filing a New York State income tax return.

Importantly:
-Families can file and receive this credit even if they have no income
-Families can file even if they do not usually file taxes
-Families can file even if they haven’t filed in several years
