Friends,

Thank you for the many calls, messages, cards, thoughts and prayers. All of the support you’ve shown truly means so much to me.

Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy have been a rough go this time. I’ve not felt great, to say the least, and have definitely not felt myself. Between the two therapies, I’ve been prescribed a lot of steroid and nausea medications to combat the side effects. I’ve not even felt well enough to see my two baby boys regularly.

If I haven’t answered or responded back to a call or message, please don’t take it personally, I do not mean to offend anyone at all.

My grandsons and family are getting me through this. With their support, and yours, I’m determined to fight through it; it may just take a few detours, but I’ll get there!

And in the words of Jelly Roll “I’m not okay, but it’s all gonna be all right.”

An update on my treatment journey 2.0…

The last month has been a whirlwind of many tests, scans, appointments and follow-ups.

I have a treatment plan in place and tomorrow I begin Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy for lung cancer.

With the support of my doctors, family, and friends, I’m confident treatment will be effective!

Thank you to those of you that have reached out and sent prayers and positive vibes my way. All of the messages have been so encouraging and uplifting!

Your continued thoughts, prayers, and positive vibes are SO appreciated 🤍

Family and friends~

As many of you know, I had lung surgery last week to remove a small cancerous nodule. Once the doctor made the incisions, he was able to remove a wedge of my lung that contained the nodule.

Unfortunately, he also found that the cancer had spread into my pleural tissue (tissue surrounding the lung/in the chest cavity). This news was extremely unexpected so it came as quite a shock to myself, my family, and even my doctors; the cancer in the pleural space was not seen on my PET Scan in June.

My oncology team has got the ball rolling and a tentative treatment plan in place. While I’m recovering from surgery, I’ll be having more scans and am waiting for results from extensive blood and tissue testing. Once I’m cleared by the surgeon and all the testing comes back, I will begin treatment (in approximately 3-5 weeks).

I have been overwhelmed by the love and support via calls, texts, and messages. I appreciate each of you thinking of me-but, please don’t take it personally if I haven’t gotten back to you. I am still very much processing all of this and trying to heal as best I can before starting treatment.

Please pray for my family 🤍

Hi friends-

Just wanted to update everyone! Today we were supposed to be celebrating GiGi’s last day of chemo-but unfortunately we are not.

Before treatment yesterday, she had labs drawn and her white blood cells (WBCs) came back very low-which is not uncommon in those receiving chemotherapy. To preserve the WBCs she has left and to create more, she’ll be getting daily injections until next week when she will hopefully complete her last two days of chemo.

We appreciate all the calls, texts, and messages-please know she is doing her very best to get back with you all.

Thank you for your continued love and support, it means the world!

Hi all! This is Kelly, a friend of Angie and her family 💚

I am starting a meal train for Angie. As you may know, she will begin fighting Lymphoma on Monday and I would like to organize food for her family. I have begun this train and picked two days a week for meals- gifts, treats whatever you deem necessary to show that GIGI's Warriors are behind her. Unfortunately, having been through it myself with me sister Kerry, I am asking that you just drop off your items discretely as she may not feel well to visit. Please leave instructions on what it is and how to cook! I am starting this chain through my friends and hope it spreads! Please feel free to share the link with people you know want to be part of this support team. IF you know of any particulars like allergies, and or things she doesn't like EMAIL ME and I will update the train! Please feel free to share throughout the whole bulldog community and beyond! Let's get her through this guys! Love , Kelly O 💚💚💚

A Meal Train page is active for The Hamiltons. MealTrain.com simplifies the process of giving and receiving meals and more.

Hi friends and clients! It’s been a minute since I’ve given an update, so here goes…

Last year I closed the salon for what I thought would be a few months and here we are over a year later. I was dealing with some health issues, figuring things out, and prepping for my son’s wedding (my baby boy is married 🤩). I was scheduled for surgery in September and ultimately the surgeons thought it best to cancel.

I had testing, scans, and blood work, and unfortunately, there were incidental findings. In the past month I’ve had even more testing, bloodwork, and two biopsies.

All to say, I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. My prognosis is looking good, but I’m told this will be a long road. My Oncologist and I, along with my family, have decided that treatment is the best way to go at this point. I will undergo six months of treatment that includes chemotherapy with routine bloodwork and scans.

I’ve received numerous text messages and calls over the last year and a half; I apologize for not returning them, I just haven’t had the words.

All in all, this is my final farewell to my salon life at GiGi’s. I have appreciated all of my clients and those who have become friends. Hair is my passion and I won’t ever stop loving it. I’m grateful that I’ve met so many amazing people and to have been a part of your life, especially behind the chair.

Love,

Angie

As 2021 comes to an end, I’d like to extend my gratitude to all my clients and friends. Your support and love have meant SO much to me.

I will be slowly starting to schedule clients again in the New Year; however, I’m not 100% where I want or need to be, with my health. That being said, I will not have a consistent schedule from day to day or week to week and some weeks I will not be scheduling guests.

I appreciate the understanding and kindness you have all shown as I’ve taken time to focus on my health. I’m looking forward to continuing doing what I love with the support of my family, friends, and clients.

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2022!

Love,

Angie

*I know not everyone has social media, so if you could pass this along I’d be so grateful 🖤

I am overwhelmed with gratitude by the countless calls, texts, and voicemails I’ve received over the last couple of weeks. Thank you for your love and concern.

Being behind the chair is one of my favorite places to be, besides with my family. Well, earlier this month, my body said differently and I’ve been experiencing extremely uncomfortable symptoms (to say the least). And, as most of you know, last year was emotionally taxing for my family and I, as it was for many of you. Those who know me, know that I love to make people happy and give 100% to make them feel their best.

With that being said, I have made a decision, along with my family, that I will be taking some much needed time to heal my body both physically and mentally.

This has been an extremely hard decision to make, but right now I need to focus on myself (which has never been well defined for me) and being the best for my family.

I know that many people won’t understand this decision. It breaks my heart to think that I may be letting my clients down. I wanted to be able to tell each and every one of you face to face, with the way things transpired with my health, that wasn’t possible.

Please understand that I know full well that you may need to find other options, as I don’t know when I’ll be back behind the chair. Know that I have appreciated and continue to be thankful for your loyalty and friendship. I will miss you and doing what I love everyday. This is not goodbye ❤️
