Thank you to Yvette for sharing this beautiful video. She tells us, “Riding a two wheeler was challenging for Aliza, but I never gave up on her. We practiced and practiced, went to I Can Bike twice and then …. SHE DID IT!! I was so proud of her as she showed her endurance and inner strength and abilities. This is a great example of our journeys with our kids. Never give up on them. Give them all the opportunities and then step back and watch them soar!”

Our team is out of the office for the remainder of this week attending the annual GiGi’s Leadership Conference — learning, connecting, and bringing back fresh ideas to make our Playhouse even better!

All programs are still on as scheduled, so we can keep the fun and progress going while we’re away.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to grow, learn, and make a bigger impact together.

Our Story

GiGi’s Playhouse Atlanta is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources, therapeutic classes, specialized teaching and support to families of T21 (Trisomy 21/Down syndrome). Everything at GiGi’s Playhouse is FREE: occupational and physical therapy, tutoring and family support. The T21 population share common obstacles: sleep apnea, hypotonia (low muscle tone), weak mouth skills, low sensory awareness, nutritional deficits. If tackled early, these challenges can be managed and overcome. Early intervention works. Classes at GiGi’s Playhouse are styled for therapeutic play to develop speech and language, social development, fine and gross motor skills. Our literacy program builds a foundation from the beginning in four main areas: articulation, sight word recognition, vocabulary, comprehension. Tutoring is conducted one-on-one over 12 weeks with a 94% graduation rate to the next literacy level. T21 is a diagnosis of hope and one that with a little early intervention, a normal and independent life is possible.
