Often when I write, it is to share something I’ve learned that I hope will enhance your health. This year feels especially meaningful because I am finally completing my new book, Healthy Is a Verb — a project ten years in the making, shaped entirely by the experiences and insights I’ve gained while helping all of you. Today, I not only want to share that joy with you, but to simply tell you how much I appreciate you.

Your presence in the practice brings purpose to my life. Through you, my desire to help people live healthy, meaningful lives is fulfilled. I been in practice since 1980, and even after all these years, witnessing someone regain hope that they can heal never becomes routine. It is still inspiring — every single time.

You give me the opportunity to live my purpose. Not only through your own care, but through the people you refer — many of whom I might never otherwise meet. Some struggle with serious or debilitating issues, and your compassion makes it possible for them to find help. I want you to know that I see your kindness, and I appreciate it deeply.

Detoxification

I wanted to share with you my experiences as well as 6 others on the detox. My initial intention was to check for myself what you may experience if you do the detox. I have been researching the best way to approach detoxification for 18 months. The pressing questions that I had were. How do you know when to detox? How would you know if you have completed it? What would be the procedure that would be most effective. What would be the least traumatic method? Which one would be the easiest to comply with? I have answered these questions to my satisfaction. I am sure that further innovations will be created to make better. It is always improvement.

The one factor about this program that interested me, from speaking to many people who have completed this program, was the comments that it was not traumatic and very effective. Also it had been researched thoroughly and tested. After being on the program for two months I noticed that I was sleepy for two days the first month and in the second month I have not experienced any difficulties. One benefit I did notice was, have you ever notice when you move in certain directions how you anticipate how far you can move? Well I was picking something up on Monday and noticed I could move farther. After this, I moved in others directions with the same result. I realized that my body was not creating as much inflammation as previously.

Jeanne is on the program as well. Something she noticed is that for about three days she felt tired - Jeanne NEVER feels tired - and realized that she had not been eating as often as she had usually. I checked and it was low blood sugar. So you should keep you diet without much variation, similar to the way you normally eat. I questioned her about it and she said that she noticed that she was not as hungry.

I have another fantastic result but she is in her second month and when she is finished I will share detailed results with you. I will probably add photographs and ask her if she would be kind enough to share her success with you.

I was reading last week information on the foods we eat. It speculated how foods could possibly function. It stated that when we eat one of two possibilities exists. The first possibility is that the food is eaten, then digested, and subsequently be turned into the building blocks to create new cells in the body. The other possibility would be that the food digested could dedicate itself to buffering the harmful effects of toxins in the body. I came to realize after this that the paradigm I use is supplementing the body with nutrition proper foods to regenerate it. The other possibility of foods role could not be ignored.

I anticipate what should occur in the light of nutritional intervention. If is not as forthcoming as I would like,
It is frustrating to say the least. Then I thought ," well no wonder it is not creating new cells, it is busy tending to the toxic effects of substances we are constantly exposed to." I have put this concept to the test as I have reviewed charts of those patients who I thought would do better and checked to see if a new protocol of toxicity is the answer. Symptomatically, it has proven beneficial in several situations. I will develop a larger experiential data base as time goes on. BUT IT IS PROMISING.

“If you can imagine what it’s like to awaken every morning in pain, then you have some idea of what my life has been like for the last three years. I am only 46, but I felt, and I walked like I was 90+ for at least the first few hours of each day. Every joint in my body ached. My head always felt heavy, and foggy.

Some days were better than others, but this never went away. Then, I did “allergen clearing”, which was totally new to me. Immediately afterwards, I literally felt as though a huge weight lifted off my body. Sounds strange, and I felt rather strange and a little tired for several hours afterward. But when I woke up this morning, I was already down the stairs before I realized that I didn’t hurt. I wasn’t limping. My head didn’t feel foggy. My body feels lighter, and more limber. And while this is just the first step of the program to get my life back, it is such a huge leap from where I was that I am very excited about the next step.
