Thank you to all of the vendors who participated in our Trunk or Treat and our little neighborhoods who came bearing gifts of roses. Staff and residents had fun dressing up in Halloween costumes. It was a great day!

We pre-gamed for Halloween by declaring a winner of the department pumpkin decorating contest. All entries were clever and fun but Powerback Therapy team took home the win with Jack Skellington. The Connections/Memory Care residents showed off their artistic talent by painting pumpkins for display.

Both the Assisted Living and Memory Care/Connections residents went on a field trip to the Apple Barn in Elijay. We also made a lunch stop at Ruby Tuesdays. Field trips can improve mood and create a sense of joy and adventure, stimulate the brain, improve cognitive function, slow the progression of cognitive decline and provide opportunity to connect with peers. Look at those smiling faces. 😍

Oh what fun we had yesterday celebrating National Dessert Day 🧁🥮🍪🍰 with a bake off from our leadership team!! There was chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip oatmeal peanut butter cookies, a sour cream pound cake, Texas sheet cake, banana pudding, pumpkin pie, chocolate banana bread pudding with vanilla drizzle and Guyanese pineapple tart. The team really showed up and showed out and the residents had a ball.
