Multi-use spaces often struggle to support multiple groups at the same time.

Most operable wall systems can help, but not without compromise.

With Skyfold, you don’t have to choose.

Spaces can separate quickly and quietly, without giving up sound control or slowing everything down.

If a space can’t adapt on its own, is it really designed for people?

When “flexibility” depends on staff to move furniture, adjust schedules, and constantly reset rooms, it’s not really flexibility. It’s a workaround.

That’s where people-focused design starts to matter.

Acoustic separation that actually holds. Transitions that happen quickly. Layouts that stay clean without floor tracks or panel storage getting in the way.

Design should do the work — not the people using it.

When adaptability is built in from the start, the space can adjust without needing a full redesign and it doesn’t end up sitting unused.

Solutions like operable wall systems allow spaces to support different group sizes and uses while maintaining a clean, functional layout.

Over time, that means lower costs and a longer lifespan.

Common in corporate offices, event centers, and other multi-use environments.

Ceiling space is often underused square footage.

When architects and designers start exploring flexible partition systems, one of the first questions becomes: where does the system actually go when it’s being stored?

This is where Skyfold’s engineering approaches the problem differently. 💡 Instead of stacking panels along a wall or in a storage pocket, the system retracts into the ceiling cavity.

That means the floor plan stays fully usable, the aesthetic remains seamless, and the room doesn’t have to sacrifice wall space or valuable floor area just to accommodate the partition when it’s open.

Lately we’ve been spending more time around the table.

Lunch & learns, small roundtables, and conversations with architects and industry partners.

These discussions may not show up in finished project photos, but they’re an important part of how great spaces come together. 🤝

We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with the professionals shaping these environments; sharing insights, exploring solutions, and learning from one another.

Visual continuity affects how calm and intentional a room feels.

- When wall systems stack along the perimeter, they take up visual space.

- When tracks or hardware are exposed, they compete with the architecture.

- When panel storage is visible, the room feels heavier.

Good design isn’t only about what’s present. It’s about what’s absent.

Skyfold operable walls store within the ceiling cavity, preserving clean sightlines and uninterrupted wall space — protecting the integrity of the original design intent.

For this corporate amenity center, a Skyfold Classic 60™ wall was integrated into a newly constructed space in collaboration with LS3P Associates and Gilbane Building Company, and installed by Skyline Innovations.

The system features a mixed finish configuration — Nevamar Glistening Trail on the top and bottom rows, with a white markerboard surface across the center panels — allowing the wall to function not only as acoustic separation, but as an active surface for collaboration, presentations, and everyday use.

At 10 feet in height, the wall was specified to deliver dependable acoustic separation while maintaining a refined corporate aesthetic. The result is a space that transitions smoothly between open use and focused meeting configurations without compromising performance

An open area shouldn’t limit how a space is used.

This shared student space needed to support everyday activity — collaboration, quiet work, and everything in between.

The challenge wasn’t size. It was flexibility, acoustics, and control.

With a Skyfold vertically folding wall in place, the space can shift as needs change — without disrupting schedules, supervision, or flow.

Designing for real use means planning for change.

A few days in Quebec City 🇨🇦

Our team recently attended the Annual Sales & Top Dealers Conference with Skyfold — and being recognized among top-performing partners was an honor.

It’s a reminder of why we do this work: creating spaces that adapt in real time, support the people using them, and perform quietly as needs change.

Huge congratulations to our Director of Operations, Matt Darling, on being named Project Manager of the Year 🏆

Between the snowy scenery, historic architecture, and a visit to HĂ´tel de Glace for a tour and dinner, it was an unforgettable experience. Already looking forward to next year.
