Just hours before this couple was scheduled to say "I do," the bride went into premature labor and was rushed to Ascension Seton Williamson (ASW). She delivered their baby, who was immediately admitted to the NICU to receive specialized care.

Seeing the family's disappointment, the dedicated ASW team decided to step in and ensure the wedding still happened. They quickly mobilized their collective talents and resources:

The Officiant: A compassionate nurse, who also happens to be an ordained officiant, performed the marriage ceremony.

The Planner and Decorator: Another nurse, who works as a wedding planner in her spare time, provided decorations from her personal collection.

The Caterer: A third team member secured a beautiful wedding cake and a bouquet for the bride with the help of H-E-B.

The quick thinking and compassion of the ASW staff transformed a stressful and challenging day into a heartfelt celebration.

Families like Brittni and Alan’s know how much that care means. When their twins, Rory and Vivi, spent three months in the NICU, the nurses not only cared for the babies, but also helped two new parents find their confidence.

“There are no words—the nurses were amazing,” Brittni said. “We were learning how to be parents, and they supported us every step of the way.”

Next week is —a day to unite for the good of our community. At Ascension Seton Williamson, families find comfort and care during life’s most vulnerable moments: https://bit.ly/48jLGuz

When Brittni and Alan’s twin girls, Rory and Vivi, were born more than eight weeks early, they were rushed to the NICU. As first-time parents, Brittni and Alan were overwhelmed. Both girls struggled to eat and needed feeding tubes, and Vivi faced frightening episodes when her heart rate suddenly dropped.

Through it all, the nurses became a lifeline. “These are our first kids, so we didn’t know what to expect,” Brittni shared. “But the nurses made it all better.”

This Giving Tuesday, your gift will ensure that more families—no matter their circumstances—receive the same compassionate care close to home. Make an early gift today: https://bit.ly/48jLGuz

The Ascension Texas Disaster Recovery and Medical Response Unit jumps into action when disasters strike.

Thanks to our supporters, the Ascension Texas Foundations funded supplies and other needs for this team to respond to the Central Texas Floods this summer. They took hygiene kits, weather radios and other necessities to those who had lost homes and property to the floodwaters. The unit also contributed clinical support for first responders and volunteers as well as psychological first-aid to those traumatized by the devastation.

The Ascension Seton Williamson Foundation is excited to welcome three new board members to our Board of Trustees: Will Matthews, Jennifer Seidner, and Steven Wolfe.

We also want to thank Holly Coe for more than a decade of service at the Foundation. Holly served on the Seton Women’s Development Board for five years and then as a Trustee for the last five years, but her support of the Foundation extends far longer than a decade. Holly has contributed so much and is truly passionate about the mission of ensuring healthcare for all in our community — we are grateful she will continue to collaborate with us into the future.

It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the passing of Sister Gertrude Levy on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the age of 105.

For more than 40 years, Sister Gertrude blessed the hallways of Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin (Seton Main) with her loving presence leaving a legacy that is still very much felt today.

“Sister Gertrude was a bright light in the lives of four generations of my family and the lives of thousands who visited Seton Hospital. Sister was, in every way, a servant leader putting God first, her neighbor second and herself third. She took a personal vow of poverty yet raised millions of dollars for the healthcare of the poor and the vulnerable,” said Luci Baines Johnson. “We pray the Good Lord is now showering on Sister the joy she always showered on us.”

We're thrilled Ascension Seton Williamson recently doubled the size of its cardiac rehab space. This expansion offers more equipment and more flexibility to customize rehab programs for individual patients -- helping them get back to their lives faster.

A milestone moment for cardiac rehab at Ascension Seton Williamson!

We welcomed our first patient this week in the newly expanded cardiac rehab space! This area was designed to give cardiac patients the support, equipment, and environment they need to get stronger — and we’re already seeing the difference it makes.

Our team is proud to walk alongside patients on their journey to recovery — one step, one pedal, one heartbeat at a time.
