After holding prices steady for the last 6-8 years, through COVID, rising expenses each year, and increased costs of living, I will be raising my prices as of 9-1-23. Even so, I am still at the bottom end of the average costs of Massage for the area. The new prices will be as follows:

One Hour Massage: $85
One and one half Hour Massage: $125
Two Hour Massage: $160

Thank you for understanding.

Awesome! Didn't realize this was even out there.

Did you know stress reduction helps to improve your immune system? Massage helps to slow/stop our fight or flight response to stress, thus helping to reduce the adrenal hormones and giving out bodies a chance to rest and recuperate.

I have some openings on Wednesday and Friday this week. Call me at 512-560-1187 to schedule your massage today.

So we’ve figured out COVID is probably not going to go away any time soon. Now we need to determine how to proceed with life and stay safe at the same time.

Before I get any further, this post is not up for debate. I’m not here to argue about whether it’s real, a conspiracy, truth or lies about reporting on numbers, or anything else. I’m complying with state directives to keep myself and my clients safe and to maintain my licensure. Period. Negative posts will be immediately removed and blocked. I really hate that I have to put this, but I’ve seen way too many attacks on similar posts, just because someone doesn’t agree. If you don’t agree, please feel free to keep scrolling.

These are the things I am doing at and for my office to keep things safe:

1. I have not gone anywhere out into the public without a double filtered mask since all of this has started. I say double filtered because of the 95% of people I’ve seen out without masks. Now in my office, I do use the disposable masks because they are cooler and easier to work in. Everyone that comes in is screened and wearing a mask as well. It is not a one way street.

2. I invested in a UV/Ozone lamp early on and run it on a regular basis to help minimize any potential contamination. While running the lamp I take apart the face cradle and expose the Velcro, underside and arm rest directly to the lamp light. Everything else is sprayed/wiped down for disinfecting on the table, all k***s and handles, doors and intake area. This happens between each and every client!

3. I wash my sheets on a special setting that sanitizes them. Main reason I purchased this washer. It’s a 2 hr, 15 minute setting. I do not overfill the tub, rather I only fill it about half way to give everything plenty of room to move around and get cleaned well.

4. I schedule 1.5 hours between appointments to allow time to do all of the disinfecting. Note this is 50% longer than any scheduled one hour appointment. That means the number of appointments available are decreased in order to meet the disinfecting requirements.

5. I have learned a way to “funnel” a pillow case on the face cradle for those who cannot tolerate wearing a mask face down. It is required that you put your mask back on before turning over.

6. All sheets/equipment/paperwork etc are put away and only those needed for each massage are out when you arrive. Drawers and file cabinet are not opened when someone is in the room.

7. I keep a mask on at all times while I am in the building. I do use a straw in an otherwise sealed container to be able to drink fluids. It’s really difficult to stay hydrated otherwise without having to remove and then replace a mask. If I am eating lunch at the office, I go out to my car to do so in order to not remove my mask in the office.

8. I have a small fan on the floor in order to keep air circulating.

Thank you to everyone who has already placed their trust in me to receive massage services. I hope this posts puts others at ease when making a choice as to whether or not they are ready to return.

Stay blessed and healthy,

Teena Welch, LMT

It is official that Massage Therapy is now back in business. My office is opening on Wednesday to give me a couple days to make sure everything is as it should be in the office and to get last minute things in place.

If you are coming in to the office, it is asked that you please wear a mask. Also, wash hands upon entering the building with using the paper towel to turn off the faucets and open doors. There will be hand sanitizer available in my room along with gloves and hospital grade bleach wipes for credit cards, pens, clipboard, etc. These things will be strictly adhered to.

To help assure sanitation, on top of my normal cleaning between clients, I now have a UV sterilization lamp with ozone that will run between each appointment and again at the end of my day.

There will also be an additional form for you to mark and sign concerning health, travel, and potential exposures. If you or someone within your household have been sick and run a fever of 100 degrees or more, it will be necessary to reschedule your appointment. I've sent people home in the past for being sick so this really isn't a new policy, just expanded a bit to follow governing board guidelines. I do realize that allergy season is year round here in central Texas and that people occasionally sneeze or cough from this. Including myself. We can work around this on a case by case basis.

Please realize that there are many people waiting in que to get onto my schedule. I'm trying to get everyone covered and contacted. If I have not yet contacted you, PLEASE feel free to call, text or email me and we will get you taken care of. I'm probably being human and missing some people. Those who are normally on a weekly/bi-weekly schedule, we may have to kinda finagle you around a bit initially, so I can be sure and get everyone taken care of.

If you have ANY questions or concerns about coming in, please feel free to contact me so we can discuss them.

I look forward to being back to work and seeing you all again!

Just a note to prevent confusion. The new directives allowing Hair and Nail salons to open, does NOT include massage services. I have been researching through the state and professional resources to confirm. Hang in there, I'll come back as soon as they allow.

In the mean time, I am acquiring a UV light with Ozone to be able to disinfect thoroughly between clients in the office. Please note that other than hitting door handles, and such with hospital grade bleach wipes, the rest of the building I have no control over and you will need to wear your own preferred PPP into the building.

Hope to see you soon! I MISS WORKING and getting to see you all!

Just checking in and keeping everyone updated. All massage is still banned by the state. I'm not sure how long that will last. I have a fair percentage of you who are either immunocompromised or in the 60+ group, so I will remain closed as long as it takes to make sure my people are all safe.

I went to do a curbside pick-up in Round Rock and decided to go by the office to pick up a couple of things. They must have had something flowing in the air 'cos my eyes just suddenly started watering. I really really miss working and seeing my clients. My work is very fulfilling and very much a part of what makes me who I am. It's like a hole has been ripped out of my being.

I'm looking at industry leaders for suggestions and guidelines to follow for when I do open back up. I'm sure there will be some tweaks and additions to paperwork and the intake process. As usual, I will try to keep it as short and sweet as possible.

I hope you are all well and finding ways to keep you peace and joy during these unprecedented times. I know it's a struggle some days. It's hard to stay motivated sometimes. Our normal is no longer normal. Find a new activity or hobby to help pass the time and keep your brain active.

If you are having difficulty with self managing your pain, give me a call and we'll try to talk it out and come up with some ideas and solutions to help get you through. 512-560-1187

I added picture of my puppy just to make post more interesting. He is definitely helping to keep my busy!

Just checking in, hoping you are all doing well and are safe. For the moment I'm occupying myself by painting the inside of my house. Gotta keep these shoulders and arms in shape so they're ready when we get on the other side of this thing.

If any of you senior folks, or single moms with small children need something that is only pick up, I'll be happy to help you out if you need it. I have the equipment and knowledge to keep myself safe, and at the same time keep the handling of your items safe for you to receive. Just give me a call.

I cannot work at all. But I'm very fortunate that my husband is working from home so we have a steady income and have things covered at least through April. I am well aware that this is devastating for many.

I encourage you to keep doing your Epsom Salts baths and stretching that I have gone over with you. Also, if you can, get out in the sunshine for at least 10-15 minutes a day. Vitamin D is one of the things that can help boost your immune system. Walking is also one of the best overall exercises you can do for your body. Even if it's at a slow pace. It's great for the circulation, muscles, and psychologically can give you a boost to help stave off depression and anxiety.

Try to enjoy this time with your families and pets. We always dream of having some time like this, so let's take advantage. Keep your sense of humor. Everyone feels good after a good laugh.

I am dubbing this time my viracation. Especially since I had to cancel my actual planned vacation the first half of April. So let's hear how you're spending YOUR viracation.
