Posting my upcoming breathwork events for this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday! I'll be facilitating the Elemental Rhythm breathwork as well as the newer one based on conscious connected breaths (Tonalli Rising).

➡️ Saturday's event is an intimate gathering of friends and breathwork at our home. RSVP with link in bio. Donation based.

➡️ Sunday is a half-day retreat in collaboration with Higher-Self Friendly with a mix of breathwork, yoga, sound healing, and tarot readings with a discussion on becoming anti-racist and shadow work. This is community healing at work. RSVP with link in bio.

➡️ Monday is a recovery breathwork event in collaboration with Communities for Recovery. All recovery paths welcome to the center and this breathwork experience. No RSVP needed, just show up to support your recovery journey!

I'm holding a breathwork event on March 21st at 10AM. Afterward, we'll have tea and a brief check-in/discussion. Space is limited in the house, so if we run out of space we will move the event to the park next door.

RSVP with the link in bio. If you have any questions about whether or not this breathwork is right for you, please message me. If you really need this experience and can't afford the donation, please message me privately so we can work something out.

This breathwork is named in honor and with respect to the concept of Tonalli. Tonalli is a Nahuatl word often translated as “vital heat,” “animating spirit,” or “soul energy.” Traditionally, tonalli was understood as the life force that gives a person strength, vitality, courage, and destiny. It is associated with warmth, the sun, and the animating fire within.

The Tonalli Rising Breathwork Experience is a guided, inward-facing experience using conscious connected breathing (CCB) to support inner strength, clarity, and embodied calm. This breathwork moves through Descent, Threshold, and Integration. Each session is designed to help you access your inner steadiness, expand your capacity, and leave grounded in a calm, self-directed sense of power.

Session includes intentional breath holds on full. These threshold moments build resilience and expand your capacity to remain steady in intensity. Gentle sighing exhales and grounding cues are woven throughout to support nervous system regulation and release.

The experience closes with guided meditation, mantra, and integration. Intentional language is used to anchor insight into the body and strengthen self-trust, focus, and inner authority.

Duration: 45 minutes to 1 hour and 15 mins
Donation Based: Starting $20
Location: Sent by text or email

International Panel Challenges Polyvagal Theory, Calling It “Scientifically Untenable”

• 39 experts say Polyvagal Theory doesn’t hold up to current science.

 • The critique argues PVT conflicts with established neurophysiology.

 • Evolutionary claims within the theory are being challenged.

 • This debate has been happening in academia for over 20 years.

These critiques are not new. Paul Grossman and other researchers have been questioning the Polyvagal Theory for years. There are published critiques dating back to the early 2000s. Dr. Porges has responded to some of these criticisms in the past, and the debates have been ongoing within academic circles for quite some time.

I believe there is a deeper conversation to be had here that is missing from the wellness community. For me, seeing those early discussions is part of why I chose not to anchor my teachings solely in Polyvagal Theory, but instead to focus more broadly on nervous system regulation and lived experience.

What matters most in practice, in my opinion, is that people are supported in cultivating their own felt sense. Their own embodied awareness. Their own capacity to notice when they are safe, when they are overwhelmed, when they need rest or connection.

Our bodies are not waiting for academic consensus to tell us whether we feel regulated or not. And I fear we our outsourcing our intuition, our ancient ways of knowing, to academia, politics, and technology.

This space is for people who are actively holding a lot right now on the frontlines.

Advocates.
Organizers.
Healers.
Caregivers.
Responders.
Protectors.
Counselors.

If you are consistently showing up for others, navigating stress, injustice, urgency, or crisis response, your nervous system is likely running high. Even when you care deeply about the work, it takes a toll.

I'm offering two collective recovery breathwork sessions online for those of you near and far. Free to those on the frontlines.

We will use Elemental Rhythm Flow Breathwork which consists of even breaths and extended exhale breathing patterns set to music to help the body shift out of fight-or-flight and into a more grounded state.

The goal is to allow yourself to be supported and to let your system recalibrate without having to hold everything up for a while.

🗓 02/18 + 02/25
⏰ 7:30–9:00pm CT
📍 Online (Zoom)
💛 Free to those on the frontlines

I’m opening a new weekly virtual space called The Presence Room, Slow Doing. This is for people who want presence and accountability without the and judgment. It's a place to work on the things you say you want to do, at a pace that’s sustainable.

I’ve learned that I need shared time, structure, and someone else there to help me get started and to practice what I'm working on. So this is a moderated Zoom room, held with care and clear boundaries, created for safety and nervous system ease. I’ll be there the whole time, holding the container so people can focus without needing to manage the space themselves.

You’re welcome to bring whatever you’re working on. Writing, reading, studying, planning, creating, learning, resting into beginnings.

This space is for showing up, slow doing, and staying.

🌀 Wednesdays
🌀 Starting 02/11
🌀 10:00 AM–11:15 AM CT
🌀 Online (Zoom)

If starting feels hard, or doing it alone makes things stall, this room is for you.

✨ Upcoming February Offerings ✨

Presence. Recovery. Breath. Practice.
This month I’m offering a few different ways to be together. Each one meets a different nervous system need, but they all share the same intention: to slow down, reconnect, and not do any of this alone.

THE PRESENCE ROOM | Slow Doing
🗓 Every Wednesday starting 02/11
⏰ 10:00–11:15am CT
📍 Online (Zoom)
💛 No charge | Moderated space

This is for people who work better with accountability and shared presence.
Writers, organizers, creatives, students, caregivers, anyone juggling ideas or responsibilities who wants a gentle structure to help them show up. We begin together, name what we’re working on, then work quietly side-by-side. Moderated for safety and care.

COLLECTIVE RECOVERY FLOW | Breathwork
🗓 02/18 + 02/25
⏰ 7:30–9:00pm CT
📍 Online (Zoom)
💛 Donation-based

For those on the frontlines of resistance.
Advocates, healers, organizers, caregivers, responders, and protectors who are holding a lot right now. This is a softer, nervous-system-aware breathwork practice focused on rest, regulation, and recovery. Not about pushing. About resourcing.

ELEMENTAL RHYTHM BREAKTHROUGH | Breathwork
🗓 02/29
⏰ 10:30am–12:00pm CT
📍 In-person | Round Rock

If you’re tired and still want to keep going without burning out…

If you do better when you’re not doing it alone…

You’re welcome here.

I am most in my flow when I am facilitating breathwork for others. The sacredness of witnessing and holding space for others in moments of vulnerability is something I take very seriously. I am grateful for the trust. 🥹🥰🙏🏽

Looking forward to more collaboration with again in 2026!

The Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange presents the work of Indigenous Mexican Wixarika (Huichol) artist Benigno Carrillo Bautista.

Together with his wife Margarita Carrillo Reza, brother Ángel Carrillo Carrillo, and their family, Benigno creates intricate yarn paintings and beaded sculptures that embody the Wixarika cosmovision — sacred stories, symbols, and allies expressed through color and devotion.

Each piece is crafted by hand, pressing yarn or beads into wax to bring to life the Wixarika relationship with creation and the spirit world.

✨ Presented in collaboration with the Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange, dedicated to preserving Indigenous wisdom and artistry.

🎭 Hosted by ArtUs Co, a nonprofit, artist-run space in Austin supporting affordable studios and inclusive opportunities for artists to create, exhibit, and connect.
