After nearly 28 years of dedicated service, Fire Chief Tim Gauthier is retiring from the Rowlett Fire Department. Chief Gauthier’s leadership, professionalism, and commitment to our community have left a lasting legacy in Rowlett, and we are incredibly grateful for his service.
To ensure we find the right leader to guide the Rowlett Fire Department into the future, the City partnered with a national recruiting firm and received more than 50 applications from across the country for this highly sought-after position. An internal selection committee carefully reviewed candidates and has advanced four exceptional finalists.

Meet the Finalists:
• Brent Parker – Currently City Manager for the City of Wylie with 24+ years of local government experience, including service as Fire Chief of a Class 1 ISO department. He has held numerous leadership roles in the Fire Service since 2001.
• Stephan Lopez – Deputy Chief in the Training and Support Services Division with Dallas Fire-Rescue, bringing over 25 years of experience. He holds a Master of Arts in Security Studies (Homeland Security & Defense) and multiple advanced degrees.
• Scott Roseberry – Special Operations Division Chief with Garland Fire Department, where he began his career in 1999. He has served in numerous Fire Service leadership and training roles and is also a Fire Service Instructor at the collegiate level.
• Christopher Alexander – Assistant Fire Chief with the Town of Addison, with prior service in Farmers Branch, Allen, and Sachse. He holds a Master of Science in Management and serves on various boards and commissions throughout the Dallas area.
