Why We Gather — and Why It Matters

Rowley’s Community Conversations: Death Café grew out of something very simple and very human: a longing for real conversation — the kind we don’t often get in everyday life.

It started because people in our community were carrying grief quietly…because many of us had questions about death but no space to ask them…and because deep down, we all know that talking about death helps us live more intentionally.

• Death Cafés aren’t morbid or heavy.
• They’re honest.
• They’re freeing.
• They remind us that we’re not alone in our losses, our fears, or our hopes.

Here, we talk about death, grief, identity, purpose, the people we miss, the questions we wrestle with — and the things that give us life.

• There’s no judgment, no agenda, no “right way” to feel.
• Just community.
• Just conversation.
• Just being human together.

As we begin a new season in our beautiful new space at , we’re grateful to continue creating a place where stories can be shared, burdens can be lightened, and conversations can go deeper than the surface.
