About Our Practice

Dr. Miriam Lavelle-Sams has been in practice at Roxboro Family Vision since 1987. She graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and is well trained in both routine and complex eye exams from the very young to our elderly population. Dr. Lavelle-Sams tailors her eye exams to the patient’s specific needs. She can fit contact lenses for almost every type of prescription.

Dr. Lavelle-Sams can manage Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, Macular Degeneration and Cataracts, red eyes and remove foreign bodies. She is the only Optometrist on Staff at Person Memorial Hospital for ocular emergency and is the only Optometrist in Person County with 24/7 emergency care.

Dr. Lavelle-Sams was instrumental in the decision to bring in cataract surgery at Person Memorial Hospital and currently does pre- and post-op care for lasik and cataract surgery.
