We "heart" a good reason to wear red!
Person Memorial Hospital showed up red-y to go on Friday for Wear Red Day—and it wasn’t just a fashion statement!
Wear Red Day shines a light on heart disease, the leading cause of death for women, and reminds us all to take heart health seriously. By rocking our reds, we’re helping raise awareness, spark conversations, and show some love for stronger, healthier hearts in our community.
From scarlet scrubs to ruby accessories, our team really nailed the dress code—and our hearts were totally in it!
Because when it comes to heart health, we’re all in… heart and soul!
Thanks to our amazing team for spreading the love!

Looks like the Person Memorial Team really showed up on game day!
We kicked off our annual celebration by gearing up for the Super Bowl and judging a chili cookoff—talk about a winning combo! From tailgate favorites to chili that brought the heat, this party was an absolute touchdown. We even had football on the big screen, because what’s a Super Bowl celebration without it?
Big congrats to Tim Van Hook from our Dietary Team, who ran the chili straight into the end zone and took home first place—and a brand new crock pot!
Great food, great teamwork, and great vibes all around. Now that’s how you run a winning play!

With below freezing temperatures expected this weekend in Roxboro, now’s the time to bundle up the smart way!
Dressing in layers is one of the best ways to protect yourself from frostbite and cold-related injuries. Layers trap body heat, help manage moisture, and let you adjust as temperatures and wind conditions change. Start with a warm base layer, add an insulating middle layer, and finish with a wind- and water-resistant outer layer
Don’t forget hats, gloves, scarves, and warm socks—exposed skin can be at risk in minutes when temps dip this low. Whether you’re heading out briefly or spending extended time outdoors, layering up can make all the difference. Stay warm, stay safe, Person County!

Many serious health conditions don’t cause symptoms right away. That’s why annual blood work is such an important part of preventive care. Routine labs can reveal early signs of heart disease, diabetes, kidney issues, and more, often before you feel anything is wrong. Reviewing these results with a primary care provider helps catch small changes early, when they’re easier to manage.
