Our Rooted family is growing 🌱 meet Mariah!

Mariah is a pediatric occupational therapist who is passionate about helping children and families build the skills and confidence they need to feel successful in everyday life. She earned her Master of Occupational Therapy from Western Michigan University and has since worked across rehab centers and schools as a travel therapist, supporting children and young adults with diverse abilities.

Her areas of focus include self-regulation, self-care skills, and participation in daily routines. In addition to Rooted Together, Mariah works full-time in school-based practice, supporting students with IEP and academic-related goals while fostering engagement, independence, and confidence in the classroom.

Mariah’s approach is neuro-affirming, holistic, and family-centered. She believes in meeting each child where they are, honoring their unique strengths, and collaborating closely with caregivers and teachers to make strategies meaningful and sustainable in real life.

When she’s not being an OT, Mariah loves traveling, backpacking, hiking, playing sports, and cooking. We are so grateful to have her as a part of our team ☺️

Happy August! We know returning to school is a big transition for the whole family, and we are here to help 🙂

At Rooted Together, we want to help make this transition as seamless as possible! Some of the unique services we provide include:

🗣️ communication with teachers and school therapists

🏫 school tours and/or classroom observations to help identify any sensory and environmental accommodations

📝 review of 504 plans and IEPs

📗social stories and other visuals to support your child’s return to the classroom

🧠 assessment of your child’s sensory needs, fine motor, visual motor, and executive functioning skills and how to best support their development and learning style

🌟 Bonus: our OT also works as a school OT in addition to her role with us! She is such a valuable resource to help bridge the gap between school and home/community 🫶🏼 (and I’ll brag about her all day!)

Last day of mat leave, and I’m feeling so deeply grateful for these four months with my boy - four months of learning each other, of both challenges and growth, and of more joy than I could have ever imagined. So many emotions heading back this week, but I also can’t wait to get back into the therapy world and enter it with a whole new perspective 🤍

Meet our newest and tiniest member of the Rooted Together family: Oliver (Ollie) Dennis Vinogradov 🩶

I will be taking a break from seeing clients but will still be working behind the scenes and answering your inquiries!

Our wonderful OT, Maddie, will continue to see her clients. We are also currently accepting new clients to a waitlist, with more openings coming this summer 🌞🌻

This one brought me to tears 🥹

Working with this family was truly an example of team work to figure out the best plan for my client. Every child with sensory processing differences is unique, and it’s never a one size fits all approach when it comes to finding the right accommodations and strategies. I’m so grateful for everything I learned from this little guy and his amazing mama 🫶🏼

This workshop features a unique dual-session format:

For Toddlers: A fun and interactive play group led by OT Maddie Bartek and The Nest Wellness Collective staff. Your little ones will explore gross motor movements and sensory regulation techniques through guided activities.

For Caregivers: A concurrent education session with OT Courtney Engel. Learn about sensory regulation, sensory processing, and co-regulation techniques to better support your child’s needs.

The workshop will wrap up with a collaborative session where toddlers and caregivers come together to practice regulation techniques as a team, creating an opportunity to bond and reinforce the concepts learned.
