Tuesday, March 31st is the International Transgender Day of Visibility, and it is more important than ever for trans and nonbinary folks to be seen and feel safe.

This is an issue that is very important to our practice, as we all have various levels of lived experience with trans loved ones. Our in-person clinicians have also gone above and beyond to receive an NASW certification in gender affirming care.

We know how difficult it can be to find a therapist who is informed and affirming, so please reach out to us for care you can count on.

Dialectics: two seemingly opposite and paradoxical statements that are both true at the same time! 😱

This is a core concept of DBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, which is an evidence-based treatment for people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, but I think works for anybody.

By validating two opposite truths at the same time, we’re validating the mix of feelings behind those truths. And that validation can be the key to unlocking increased self-esteem, internal motivation, and deeper connections with others. 💥

How about a little love for yourself this Valentine’s Day? Those times when we think we’ve failed are when we need to love ourselves the most, and remind ourselves that we are good people worthy of love, even if we make human errors.

It’s also a good time to check our expectations at the door. Who told you that you didn’t deserve love just because you’ve gotten rejected or didn’t accomplish everything you wanted to get done? Are these standards unreasonable? These external sources of validation are nothing but false gods. You are good and worthy just as you are! 💥

One of my goals for 2026 was to post more content here, but when the news the first week of the year is so bleak, there’s not much else to say besides this.

I’ve had to remind myself to get offline a few times this week. Do what you can and then know when to stop. We will get through things together.
