Adventure by Waltonwood is personalized life enrichment offering residents activities tailored to their own interests. Larry was one of those residents whose dream came true.

After the death of his wife, Larry longed to step out of the quiet of his home, meet new people, and rediscover joy. Dancing had always been a dream of his, so he finally decided to give it a try. To his delight, Larry was a natural. Over the years, he became a familiar face in dance halls and community groups, moving gracefully to the rhythm of the music.

It was through dancing that Larry found love again. At a popular dance spot, he met Sandy, who quickly became his partner both on and off the dance floor. Together, they shared countless evenings filled with music, laughter, and connection.

Their dancing came to an abrupt halt when Larry suffered a major health crisis. For years, he was too weak to return to the floor. Yet, through determination, rehab, and healing, Larry slowly regained his strength. Eventually, he began to dance again, rejoining the community during happy hour entertainment and local events.

For his latest adventure, Larry wanted to celebrate by going out dancing with Sandy — something they hadn’t done together in three years. They chose the Clawson Steak House, where the Mark James Band filled the room with lively music. Over dinner and under the glow of the lights, Larry and Sandy danced into the night, savoring every step of their long-awaited return.

Celebrating National Assisted Living Week!

Last week, our community came together to celebrate National Assisted Living Week, and it was nothing short of amazing! 🎉

We had a blast with fun activities like tie-dyeing, massages, enjoying delicious s’mores, and showing off our team spirit by wearing our favorite sports team gear! 🏈⚾🏀⚽

Each department got creative and decorated their stations — from the care stations to the dining room to the front desk — and the results were full of color, joy, and pride.

It was a week filled with laughter, smiles, and community spirit, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make it special. Here’s to celebrating the heart and soul of assisted living — our incredible residents and dedicated staff! ✨

Our residents enjoyed a day full of laughter and love with:
🎨 Whimsical caricature drawings
🍫 A delicious hot chocolate fountain
🏁 A hilarious seated race where grandparents raced to catch their speedy grandkids!

What a fun way to wrap up National Wellness Month! 🧘‍♀️💪🍓

Our amazing personal trainer Katie led a refreshing yoga session out on the patio, followed by chef-prepared smoothies and complimentary blood pressure checks!
We even turned it into a little game to see who had the best blood pressure…and the winner was our very own resident Eileen! 🎉💚

There’s always excitement in the air when our drumming instructor arrives, faces light up and energy fills the room. The rhythmic sounds echo through the common areas, mixed with laughter and joy.
