Some people make a difference without ever seeking the spotlight. Marlene Jones, from our Environmental Services team, is one of them, and we’re proud to recognize her as the latest Sunshine Award recipient.

Marlene brings pride, consistency, and care to everything she does. She treats every space with respect and helps create an environment that feels calm, safe, and welcoming for patients and staff alike. The impact of her work is felt far beyond her daily tasks. It shows up in the way our hospital feels every day.

As one colleague shared, excellent patient care doesn’t just happen at the bedside. It starts with a clean, safe place to heal — and Marlene reminds us of that every day.

Help us give a big congratulations to our eight new CNAs! 🌟👏

They’ve officially passed the Maine State CNA exam and are stepping into new roles across Central Maine Healthcare. It’s a huge milestone, and one we’re excited to celebrate.

At the graduation, Stephany Jacques, President of Bridgton Hospital and Rumford Hospital, shared that she started her own career as a CNA and reminded the group why this work matters: “It’s not just a job, it’s a calling.”

We’re thrilled to welcome these new team members and grateful for the compassion they’ll bring to the people we care for every day. 💙

🍁🦃 Thankful for the Team Who Keeps Rumford Hospital Humming

While many gather around the table today, countless Rumford Hospital team members are here providing the same compassionate care they give every day. Patients still need meals. Emergencies still happen.

Healthcare doesn’t get a day off.

And because of that, our teams show up. They continue to care for patients, support families, keep everything running and make the day feel a little brighter for those spending Thanksgiving in the hospital.

🥕 Healthy habits start early at Rumford Hospital!

In October, Elizabeth Moreau, RD, clinical dietitian at Rumford Hospital, led a fun and interactive nutrition and cooking series at the Rumford Public Library for kids and their families.

Over four sessions, participants learned about food groups, balanced meals, healthy snacks, and the importance of smart beverage choices — all through games, hands-on learning, and tasty recipes they prepared together. 👩‍🍳

Elizabeth’s goal was to make nutrition approachable and fun, empowering kids to make healthy choices on their own while building confidence in the kitchen.

We love seeing our team members bring wellness and education into the heart of the community! 💙
