A familiar face, now in a new role.

Central Maine Healthcare welcomes Dr. Jessica Poulin as Director of Osteopathic Education for our Family Medicine Residency Program. Many in the community may already know her from her work at Central Maine Osteopathic Manual Medicine in Auburn.

After earning her undergraduate degree at MIT, she went on to complete medical school and her residency at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

At the core of her approach is listening, building trust, and taking time to understand each patient’s goals, concerns, and experiences.

Stephany Jacques, RN, President of Rumford Hospital, and Kathie Williams, Director/Co-Founder of the Larry Labonte Recovery Center, were at Larry Labonte’s Recovery Rally representing Rumford Hospital.

The rally continues to be an important opportunity to connect people with resources, share information, and support individuals and families navigating recovery. It’s work that matters across the River Valley.

👣 Foot & Ankle Care, Closer to Home

If you’ve been dealing with foot or ankle pain, there’s now another option right here in Rumford.

Cason Quinn, DPM is seeing patients at Rumford Hospital, bringing experience in complex foot and ankle conditions, including reconstruction and trauma.

Dr. Quinn was drawn to rural Maine to be part of a community where her skills are truly needed. She’s known for taking the time to build trust with her patients and approaching care with a personal, thoughtful touch.

💙 Care close to home can make all the difference, and we’re glad to be able to offer it here in Rumford.

March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

Every day, people come in for a screening that could change, or even save, their life. Colorectal cancer often begins as small polyps that can be found and removed before they become cancer.

That’s why screening is so important. Most adults should begin screening at age 45, and a colonoscopy remains one of the most effective ways to detect and remove polyps early.

Sometimes the most powerful step you can take for your health is simply getting checked. 💙

Big news for Rumford Hospital and the River Valley 💙

Rumford Hospital will receive $6.4 million in federal funding to support important upgrades to our Emergency Department, strengthening the care our community relies on every day.

Secured by Senator Susan Collins, this funding will help expand space in the emergency department, upgrade technology, and improve how patients move through care when minutes matter most.

For our team and for River Valley, it’s a meaningful investment in keeping high-quality emergency care close to home.

Residency means long hours, constant learning, and stepping into big responsibilities. Our residents do it with focus, professionalism, and care for our patients and community.

Did you know CMMC has had a Family Medicine Residency Program for more than four decades? Over that time, we’ve graduated more than 200 family medicine providers who have gone on to make a lasting impact in healthcare.

Through our rural track, residents also rotate to Rumford Hospital, gaining hands-on experience caring for patients in the river valley.
